Sakura Oogami - A noble end

A tiny build up to her execution but no real romance. . .sorry. . .  

"S-Sakura. . .you didn't really do it. . . .did you?" Asahina looked at her once powerful friend tremble ever so slightly. 

"Asahina. . . .I didn't. I promise you I didn't." The single sentence she spoke drowned the room in utter silence. 

"Then Monokuma is lying?" Naegi looked at the monochrome bear with a look of hope and determination. He wanted to prove that she wasn't guilty.

"Nope! Sakura Oogami is definitely the blackened! Now stop chattering I wanna press the BIG RED BUTTON!" Sakura flinched at Monokuma's deadly words.

"But. . .Sakura. . .if you didn't do it why. . .why is Monokuma about to execu- She slapped her hands over her mouth as she realised what she was going to say.

"Asahina, that stuffed bear may deny what I'm about to say, but I trust that you will take my word over his."Her fixed stare prevented anyone from sounding a single word.

"He-he threatened me to be a mole. He threatened me with hostages, my family and friends and at first I crumbled. However, as I saw everyone around us dying I finally understood who I was meant to protect. It was all of you. So I attacked Monokuma hoping to take him down."

"So to get you out of the way Monokuma is framing you." Kirigiri was stoic as ever but she held a certain surprise in her eyes. It was small, almost unnoticeable, but it was there.

"Yes exactly right, but please don't worry. I knew of the consequences when I attacked him and I am willing to except them. Perhaps this will even stop the killings. . .and maybe I can meet Kenshiro again. . . how nice would that be? . . . . " (If you know who Kenshiro is a cookie for you :) 

Everyone felt a crude mix of hope and despair rise within them. The hope to fulfill Sakura's wish and escape. The despair of losing yet another friend, a noble and loyal friend.

"Paint me as the bad guy then! Now lets do this!" Monokuma jumped up and down his paw itching to send Sakura Oogami to her death.

"Thank you for treating me kindly Asahina, everyone. It may be too much to ask but please think of me kindly. Even if I'm a traitor. . ."

"You were never a traitor Sakura! Not really. . . .you've always been our friend and always will be. . . . . my best friend. . ." Tears welled up in her eyes as she desperately tried to express herself.

Sakura's eyes softened as she smiled softly, she may have been called an orge but in that moment she was beautiful. "Goodbye Asahina."

"Now then, I've prepared a very special punishment for Sakura Oogami, the Ultimate Martial Artist!

Lets give it everything we've got! It's. . . PUNISHMENT TIIME! 

Sakura took in her surroundings as she found herself in the wilderness. The calm atmosphere of nature was suddenly interrupted as all kinds of alien commanders and soldiers ambushed her. She fought through the aliens one after the other, again and again.

"I refuse to give up!" Her voice rung out as she kicked forcefully at all the opponents. 

Despite her greatest efforts though, she was being swarmed with more and more aliens until she disappeared into the crowd of invaders. . . . . 

. . . . . . . . .

. . . . . . . . .

She wasn't resurfacing. Sakura Oogami was gone.
