Ashton

"I'm sorry, Ash." Michael pouted at his best friend, hugging him tightly (yet of course, not too tight). "I'll see you tomorrow?"

"Only if you want to. You shouldn't-"

"Then I'll see you tomorrow." Michael interrupted Ashton, knowing the boy was going to say something along the lines of 'only if you want to and only if you have nothing better to do or something'. And Michael felt like Ashton was currently his first priority so of course he would want to and have nothing better to do.

"Fine, fine." Ashton giggled softly, smiling widely as they said their goodbyes. He then let out a small sigh, but he was still smiling. Even if life hadn't been too nice to him, he saw that it was finally getting better. Nothing would make it less, or so he thought in that moment.

Ashton closed his eyes contently, turning on his side and smiling still as he slowly drifted off to sleep. He knew he still needed his dinner, but he wasn't hungry and he was tired. The nurse would wake him up if she came with dinner anyway.

As the curly haired boy fell asleep, his vision clouded. Or well, his 'dream-vision'. He was dreaming.

Of course Ashton knew that, but he had never had such a vague dream. Yet, realistic. Because he also had never had a dream in which he could completely control himself.

He was in the hospital bed, a figure moving through his room and seeming to look at everything. He blinked a few times, his vision clearing and the figure becoming more human and clear.

The boy was tall, blonde and was wearing a black tank top that showed off his arms, littered with tattoos.

Ashton had never seen him before, furrowing his eyebrows lightly as he watched the blonde looking around. "Excuse me?"

The blonde boy froze, before slowly turning around. Ashton saw the boy's face, from the black knobs in his ears to the eyebrow- and lippiercing, to his amazing clear blue eyes.

Ashton felt his breath hitch as their eyes met, before he quickly looked over the boy. He was dressed in all black, the only other colour being the white skull on his top.  "W-who are you?"

The blonde cleared his throat, smiling a little awkwardly as he took in the boy in the hospital bed. "I'm -- Lucas. I'm Lucas."

Ashton narrowed his eyes a little at 'Lucas', who seemed to he lying. But then again, Ashton was dreaming so why did it even matter? As long as he could call the boy something.

"Okay. Why are you in my dream?"

"Um, I don't know. It's your dream." Lucas countered, playing with his lipring as he put his hands in his pockets.

Ashton nodded slowly, looking around. "This dream is pretty cool. I've never had one so... realistic and controllable."

Lucas looked at the boy, taking him in. He saw the boy's curls, a lot of them and quite long. He guessed that's what he must have looked like before he lost his hair to the chemo. He liked it, if he was honest. "I guess."

"So, who are you exactly? I mean, not to be rude, but I don't know you." Ashton bit his lower lip carefully, hoping the blonde wouldn't take any offence in it. Ashton hated it if he meant something well and someone saw it as an insult. He never insulted someone. Definitely not on purpose.

"You're not rude, just curious. I get it. I mean, I don't know you either." Lucas shrugged, looking back at the curly haired boy.

"Oh. Well, that's interesting."

"I guess. I'm also curious though." Lucas shrugged, avoiding to look the other in the eye. It only made Ashton more curious, his hazel eyes taking in the other boy once again.

"Oh? Well, you can ask me anything I guess."

"This question is not that simple though."

"You can still ask it. Who knows if I can help." Ashton shrugged, watching the blonde sigh softly and look at him again.

"It's not that simple." Lucas repeated, before taking the chair besides the bed and sitting down in it. Ashton was a little surprised at how the boy had so suddenly approached him, but he simply sat up a bit more. "I never caught your name."

Ashton looked at the blonde still, letting his eyes move over his face. "It's Ashton."

"I like your name," Lucas complimented, watching how the other boy got a soft red colour on his cheeks. He mumbled a shy 'thank you' as he looked down, fiddling with his fingers. He didn't know why the blonde made him feel like that (and that while they only just met, in his dream out of all).

"Say, how about we just get to know one another, huh?" Lucas proposed, leaning his elbows on his knees and watching the curly haired boy nod and slowly smile. "Sure."
