Ashton

"I think it's good he didn't make you remember." Ashton mumbled, as he combed his hand through the blonde hair of the boy in his arms. The blonde sniffled, shrugging. "But... I just..."

Ashton hummed quietly. "I know, I know. But after all, if you'd remember, you wouldn't be the same person, maybe. And would you want to change who you are?"

Luke blinked, closing his eyes for a moment. "No."

"So it's not a bad thing. And you made yourself forget, remember? It must've been hurting you. You did yourself a favour."

"Calum knew though."

"What?"

"That we have golden hearts..."

Ashton sighed, nodding slightly. "But he didn't- doesn't know about your memories, right?"

Luke shook his head, biting his lower lip. Ashton was still running a hand through the blonde's hair, smiling a little at how soft it was. "Then you can't blame him, can you?"

"No." The blonde sighed, pushing himself back a little so he was right against the other. "They just make me sad. The thoughts of them."

"I can imagine." Ashton pressed a kiss to the blonde's neck. "If you wanna talk..."

Luke frowned, still pressed back against Ashton. It made the curly haired boy warm and happy, knowing the other liked his comfort. Also sad, because that's just what Luke needed, comfort because of something sad.

"I just... I was the most unlucky little shit, yet I managed to stay positive. I was so strong, but now... I feel like the weakest immortal out here."

"You're not weak, Luke. You're way stronger than you think." Ashton declared. "Heaven, you were strong enough to come warn me and you were strong enough to get back to me after the Never." Ashton held one of Luke's hands tightly. "You're so much stronger than me and than you think."

"It took me too long. You had to appear it front of me for me to get back to you."

"I don't care, Luke. You did and that's all that matters." Ashton shuffled back a little, pulling the blonde on his other side so they were facing each other. With his free hand, he cupped the blonde's face. "You are not weak, understand me? You might not be as strong as you were back in your mortal life, but that's okay. You're still strong and now is what really matters."

Luke looked at the other with big and sad eyes, making Ashton's features soften, his nose rubbing against the blonde's in a comforting manner. "You're you and you're amazing just the way you are. Like the one dude's song goes."

"I don't know that song."

"Eh, that's okay." Ashton chuckled, leaning forward so their foreheads were touching. "Can we kiss?"

"Why do you keep asking?"

"That's gentlemanly."

"I don't think that's a word." Luke protested, though smiled. Ashton giggled, shrugging. "Just answer."

"Kiss me, idiot."

Ashton smiled giddily, pressing his lips to the blonde's and moving them slowly. Luke responded almost immediately, their lips moving together nice and slow. They always kissed like this, as if to put all their emotions or feelings into it.

"Ash." The blonde breathed out once they pulled back, his pupils wider than normal. Ashton looked at the blonde in surprise, recognising the look and biting his lip in return. Luke moved over him, looking down. "Can we..."

Ashton's breath hitched at how deep Luke's voice suddenly sounded, his whole body heating up at the idea. He hadn't done much yet, in the span of his 18-year mortal life, but he wasn't backing out like he had expected himself to.

"Please." Luke mumbled, leaning down and pressing a kiss to the boy's neck, before adding another. And another.

"L-Luke, can we- can we slow down?" Ashton mumbled, pushing the other away by his shoulders a little, just so they could look at one another. Luke's eyes lightened up in the slightest, as he nodded. "'M sorry."

"It's okay, I just... I haven't done much." Ashton admitted sheepishly. The blonde nodded, leaning down to kiss the curly haired boy shortly. "That's okay. I just want to kiss you, yeah? Is that okay with you?"

"So, um, no taking off clothes?" Ashton asked, a little nervously. It made Luke lean down, pressing a soft and short kiss to the other's lips. "If you don't want to."

Ashton bit his lower lip. "Can you take off your shirt? Just so I can see your tattoos?"

Luke chuckled, sitting back and slowly taking of his shirt. He tossed it aside, staying seated so Ashton could trail his eyes over the many dark lines that adorned the older one's torso. "They're beautiful."

"Are they?" The blonde mumbled, looking down and frowning a little. He never really saw them as anything other than markings. He couldn't remember most of them and the ones he did, were the ones he had gotten to finish the picture that he had made once he had become the Hearttaker.

"To me, they are. They are what makes you you. And just... They look amazing." Ashton trailed a finger over one of the largest tattoos on the other's chest, smiling a little as he saw goosebumps appear. Luke hummed, closing his eyes for a moment as Ashton continued to trail over his tattoos. "Thanks, Ashton."

"It's true, really." The curly haired boy mumbled, looking up at the blonde and seeing his eyes open slowly, their colours meeting. "You're amazing."

"Well, they say I have a heart of gold." Ashton joked, smiling widely at the look the blonde gave him. He then giggled, making Luke chuckle as he shook his head, leaning down to shut them both up with a kiss. Ashton hummed quietly, moving his hands up to lock them in the smooth blonde hair.

The boys let their lips move together for a bit, just the smacking sound being heard in the room. Until they both pulled back for air, Luke's eyes shining with mischief. "I do think it's only fair if you were to take of your shirt as well."

Ashton bit his lower lip, looking up at the blonde shyly. He saw the comfort in the blue eyes, making him all warm and giddy. "Okay."

As Luke kept looking at him, seeming to not be sure suddenly, Ashton took matter in own hands and moved his hands, pulling off his own shirt. He saw Luke still looking into his eyes, even after the shirt was somewhere with Luke's, so he took the blonde's face in his hands, smiling a little. "We're fine."

Luke nodded slowly, licking his lips before leaning down slowly, ghosting his lips over the other's, whispering, "and we'll always be."
