AN: Before you read, I just wanted to say that I do not know anything about heaven and/or hell and so I want to remind you that this is fiction and I do not mean to offend anyone or their beliefs with this.

Luke

"It's weird that I'm used to you visiting me." Ashton commented the moment he woke up in his dream. Luke simply chuckled, approaching the bed and sitting down. "Oh well."

"So."

"So." Luke copied, grinning.

"Why the happy face?" Ashton raised an eyebrow at the blonde, crossing his arms.

"I'm not happy." Luke said, his grin disappearing and a serious look falling over his face, his eyes almost sad. "I'm just trying to lighten the mood."

Ashton smiled lightly. "Thank you."

Luke shrugged. "It's the best I can think of to do."

Both stayed silent for a moment, before Ashton spoke up again. "Do you think we could just talk? And lie here?"

Luke raised his eyebrows, but then nodded. Ashton smiled almost immediately, scooting aside and lying down again. He patted the now empty spot beside him, watching the blonde lie down. It went against everything Luke kept in mind, but he remembered Calum's words. 'Sometimes your head just can't win from your feelings'. And so, he pulled the curly haired boy close, smiling even when said boy turned around so the blonde was spooning him.

"It's weird, you know." Ashton breathed out, moving his hands to Luke's and holding onto them.

"What is?" The blonde asked, with a hum.

"To know I'm about to die. This could be the last time I'm asleep. The last time I'm dreaming. The last for everything." Ashton sighed. "The last time I'll see my family."

"I'm sorry."

Ashton shook his head, closing his eyes. "It's your job."

"Still."

"I know."

They stayed quiet for a moment, making Luke sigh quietly before hiding his face in the curly haired boy's neck. He couldn't help but notice how good the boy smelled. Even in his dream.

"Are you smelling me?" Ashton asked, his tone telling the blonde he was amused.

"No." Luke mumbled against the boy's neck, holding him a little tighter.

"Yeah right." Ashton chuckled, smirking a little. "You so were."

"Shut up." Luke mumbled playfully, nuzzling his nose against the skin. "You like this."

Ashton sighed, smiling lightly. "I do."

The blonde hummed, not even mentally cursing himself. He couldn't bring himself to. And he now knew how Calum had felt.

"I think I'm ready though."

"For what?" Luke furrowed his eyebrows in confusion, moving his thumb to caress Ashton's hand.

"To go. I just want to be okay for tomorrow. To be able to say goodbye to my family and spend the day with Michael. But I'll take what I get. If anything, I'll spend the day inside. As long as I can see the end of it."

"You will."

"You'll take me that night, won't you?" Ashton asked, sighing quietly.

"Rather than in the middle of the following day."

"I guess."

It stayed quiet again, both boys barely moving. Luke's thumb was moving in circles over Ashton's hand as his mind and heart were in overdrive. His heart telling him how great this was. His mind telling him how stupid this was.

"It's been a while since I've felt so... okay." Ashton mumbled, sighing. He turned his head, looking at the blonde. "Will it be like this wherever I go?"

"Most likely." Luke answered, looking back into the hazel eyes he had grown to love more than he should and more than he would like to admit anyway.

"Is there heaven and hell?"

"Heaven for sure. Hell is just the detour."

Ashton snorted. "Detour. Is that a nice way of saying you'll have to endure a lot of shit as punishment before ending up in heaven?"

"Hm, I guess."

"Heaven... Is it nice there? I mean, it must be. But, is it?"

"Heaven is different for everyone. It's huge and you decide where you end up by being who you are." Luke explained, closing his eyes as he imagined the places he had been to. "It's beautiful, but of course has the terrifying places, like Earth. Because if everything was beautiful, nothing would stay beautiful."

"Confusing words, but I understand what you mean."

"Good." Luke smiled. "But I can tell you, you're going somewhere new. Where I haven't even been and heaven, I've lived for over a hundred years already."

"Wow. I'm spooning with an old man." Ashton joked, turning himself around to look at the blonde properly. "Kidding."

Luke simply chuckled. "I am old, but not nearly as old as others are. Calum and I, we're the youngest."

"Wow again."

"Yeah. But as I was saying, I've never come across someone like you before. Someone so pure. You deserve the best of the best and that's what you'll get there."

"I'm not... I'm not that great." Ashton furrowed his eyebrows, looking down. He was blushing lightly because that was one hel- eh, heaven of a compliment, but he couldn't believe it. He wasn't special. He was just a boy with an unfortunate life.

"Believe it or not. But I bet you that I'll prove you wrong. Tomorrow."

"Tomorrow."

"I'm sorry."

"Stop saying that." Ashton whined, clinging onto the blonde and squeezing him tightly. Luke simply chuckled at the actions, unfazed. "I can't."

"You sound like me."

"I know. But that's okay. I should take you as an example." Luke leaned his head back a little, smiling and slowly reaching a hand up, brushing a curl from the boy's face. For a moment, Luke was lost in the boy's beauty. Until his mind came back to Earth and scolded him. He couldn't.

"Shut up." Ashton mumbled, blushing, but not able to avert his eyes from the blue ones.

They stared at each other for a moment, both having many different thoughts that whirled through their heads.

"Will I see you when I'm there?"

"If you want to, I can visit you."

"Please." Ashton said quietly, before tucking his head underneath the other's chin. "Please do."

Luke nodded. "I will."
