Ashton ღ

"It's still all so... unreal."

Ashton hummed, looking up at the stars. He moved his hands from his stomach to next to him, closing his eyes for a moment. He knew more than anything how true those words were. Even to him it was unreal. From the moment Luke started appearing, to the moment he died, to the moment he became immortal. And not to forget to the moment he and Luke started dating.

"So fucking unreal."

Ashton rolled his eyes playfully, turning his head to face his now blue haired friend. "Say it one more time and I'll leave."

Michael looked back at the immortal next to him, looking him dead in the eye as he whispered. "Unreal."

"Oh my Heaven." Ashton groaned out, mixing in a giggle as he tried to hit the blue haired boy. Michael chuckled, rolling away and getting up. "Catch me if you can!"

"Nooo." Ashton whined, throwing his head back and closing his eyes. "I'm too comfortable."

It went silent after that, only the soft rushing of the wind heard, bringing along the occasional song of a bird. And of course the footsteps of a certain blue haired boy in the grass.

"I'm not following you." Ashton yelled, his eyes still closed. He furrowed his eyebrows in confusion as he felt a warm breeze hit his face, making him open his eyes. To his surprise, he didn't see stars. He simply saw a pair of sparkling green eyes. "Hello."

"What are you doing?" Ashton questioned the boy, raising his eyebrows. Michael chuckled, letting himself fall next to Ashton, their heads next to each other while their bodies faced the other way. "Living in the moment. Who knows when I'll see you again. Hell, I even thought I'd never see you again. But see now, I'm talking to you, I can touch you, you're still here."

"I'm your star." Ashton mumbled, turning his head to look at his friend. "And I'll always will be."

"And I'm happy you are."

Ashton nodded, smiling at his friend.

"Though, it's weird to see you like this. You've got so many curls, they're everywhere and you can walk. God, I haven't seen you walk in... I don't even remember." Michael breathed out, rubbing his face. "Shit Ash, you don't know how happy I am at the moment. Everything seems to finally be going alright. Not trying to jinx it, but yeah."

Ashton nodded again. "I know what you mean, Mikey."

"I missed you." Michael mumbled sadly, turning himself around (with a lot of wriggling) and cuddling close to the curly haired immortal. "Don't ever leave me again."

"I can't promise anything, but as far as I know, there's nothing on my agenda that could separate us." Ashton mumbled, holding the other tightly. "But if anything happens, just remember the stars, yeah?"

"I will."

And just like that, they spend the rest of their time in silence. Until Michael started disappearing and they had to say goodbye, as it meant the blue haired boy was waking up. After that, Ashton was back in the simulator, watching his friend stir in his bed and wake up to a smiling Calum, who had spent the night.

"I still love how you did that for them."

Ashton hummed, leaning back against Luke's chest as the blonde's arms moved around his waist. He wasn't surprised that the blonde was suddenly standing behind him, if anything, he liked it. "I'm happy I did."

"Even if that means you have to give people a life now, as your job?"

"It's a good thing. Giving people life."

"But someone has to die first."

Ashton sighed. "I know. But it's the cycle of life. The only unfortunate thing is when people don't get to live long enough to see certain things."The boy stayed quiet for a moment. "Like, their siblings growing up and getting a boy- or girlfriend. Them getting married. Them getting kids. See your mum become a grandparent."

Luke frowned, turning the curly haired boy around and pulling him into a tight hug, pushing the boy's face into his chest. "I'm sorry, Ash."

The curly haired boy sniffled, rubbing at his face and shaking his head, trying to pull back. But Luke kept him close, not daring to let go. "Luke, please."

"No. You're sad and you're allowed to be sad. But I'm here to comfort you, yeah? I won't let you be alone on this. You've got me."

Ashton didn't know what it was and why it was always in front of Luke that he cried, but he did. Tears kept rolling down his cheeks, either wetting Luke's shirt or falling to the floor. The blonde sighed quietly, snapping his fingers and flashing them to the other's room. Once there, the curly haired boy got picked up and was soon after put down on the bed. "It's all going to be fine."

The blonde kept Ashton close, burying his face in the curls, frowning at the sniffles he kept hearing. Just like Ashton himself, Luke didn't know why the boy suddenly broke down. They just both knew it wasn't fun. Not at all, obviously.

"Thank you, Luke." Ashton whispered, once he had quieted down. Luke hummed, moving his head up to run his hand through the boy's hair. "It's fine, bubs. I hope you're feeling better now."

"I am." The boy continued quietly. "I don't know what happened. Sorry."

"Don't say sorry, okay? It's fine. Everyone needs to let it out sometimes."

Ashton nodded, cuddling closer to the blonde and smiling a little as he looked up, his eyes meeting blue ones. "Really. Thank you."

"Don't worry." Luke whispered, leaning closer and kissing the boy softly. Ashton smiled a little, moving his lips with the other immortal slowly, his eyes closed contently. And maybe they spent the day like that, all cuddled up and doing nothing special. Just stealing kisses and whispering sweet words. Everything full of their love. Everything being just fine
