♥ Luke ♥
"Who would have thought I would see you again?"
Luke looked up to see a curly haired boy already smiling at him in a teasing way. It made him smile as well, for some unknown (to him) reason. "Oh well."
"I'm not complaining, though." Ashton grinned, already waving at the chair beside the bed.
"That's good to hear. Would you mind going for a walk?" Luke asked the other boy. Ashton raised his eyebrows, looking at the blonde in wonder. "We can leave this room?"
"It's your dream, isn't it?" Luke replied, not sure if his previous words could have given away that in fact Ashton was not the only one controlling this dream. He was already doing more than he should and he was pretty sure Ashton already suspected Luke was not just a figment of his imagination, but he tried.
"Wow," the curly haired boy mumbled, before frowning. "I don't..."
Luke looked at him in confusion, before watching as he removed the blanket. Ashton moved his toes, looking at them with big eyes. "Wow."
"Surely you've been out of this bed, or not?" Luke tried carefully, frowning slightly.
"Of course, don't be silly Lucas. It's just, it was always with machines or tubes or -- just anything and this is so... I feel free." Ashton breathed out happily, smiling widely at the blonde as he sat up more. Luke nodded slowly, stepping somewhat closer as Ashton swung his legs to the side of the bed.
It was somewhat funny to see the curly haired boy be so amazed by such simple things, but Luke just guessed it was because he hadn't been out of the bed much.
"This is so weird," Ashton spoke softly as he let his feet hit the ground, before getting up and stumbling right at Luke. The blonde raised his eyebrows, catching the flustered boy and helping him back to his feet. "Are you okay?"
"U-um, yes. Of course. Just, have to get used to this," the boy mumbled, looking up at Luke, his cheeks still somewhat reddened. The blonde had to look away, knowing he was already getting attached to the boy. Why did he agree on entering his dreams again?
"Are you an Angel?" Ashton suddenly blurted out, making Luke snap his head back to the boy. "W-what?"
The curly haired boy took the blonde's face in, managing to stand on his own and making Luke release him. "Never mind, it's stupid."
Luke opened his mouth, but then closed it again. It was better to not say anything, he thought.
"Come on, let's go for that walk." Ashton nodded, shakily and slowly walking towards the door. Luke frowned a little, sighing softly and giving in, catching up with the boy and wrapping an arm around his waist. "Don't worry."
"Thank you," Ashton spoke quietly, his eyes on his legs as he moved. It amazed Luke how the boy seemed so wonder-filled, but it also made his heart flutter. Which wasn't good. And he knew that.
But Luke also knew he couldn't help it, because just like Calum had said, sometimes the heart wins from the head.
