I woke up to the sound of my alarm. I don't want to go to school today, but I already missed a week.
I heard the boys get up and start to get ready. I looked over and saw that Leo still hasn't gotten up.
"Leo," Eddie said. "You can't just lay in bed all day. You won't be able to graduate."
"Honestly Eddie, nobody cares about graduating as much as you," I said. "Part of our probation is not missing too much school."
Yes, since we have helped Max, we are on probation. I don't understand why. It's pretty stupid if you ask me. But it was either probation or jail.
"Well, unless he wants to go to jail, then he needs to get up," Eddie said.
"He's still grieving," Charlie said. "Its normal."
"Laying in bed for a week without getting up to eat isn't normal," Eddie said.
"Yes it is," I said. "And it's not like we're eating a whole lot either."
"Fine," Eddie said. "You guys can tell that to the cops."
Eddie walked out of the room and downstairs.
I looked over again and saw that Cole was gone. Im not that surprised.
"Looks like Cole's gone... again," I said.
"I don't understand what's so important to him that he always has to sneak out for," Austin said.
"He still hasn't gotten what he wanted," I said. "His dad dead."
"Shouldn't we help him?" Charlie asked.
"Kill his dad?" Austin asked.
"No, help him get over it," Charlie said. "So he doesn't go to jail."
"Charlie," Leo said, getting up. "Have you forgotten what he did to Max!? This whole thing is his fault!"
Leo finally talked. I was beginning to worry about him. I wasn't sure how long he was going to keep that up.
"No I haven't," Charlie said. "But you acting like that towards him doesn't make you any better."
"I'm not anything like him!" Leo said.
"You're holding a grudge against him!" Charlie started to yell back. "Just like he's holding a grudge against his dad! I bet you even wish he was dead!"
"Yeah, is that such a bad thing!" Leo said. "If he's gone, Max is still here."
"Just listen to yourself," Charlie said. "Cole feels alone right now. And I'm going to be there for him."
"If you do help him, don't ever talk to me again," Leo said. "I want him out of this house and away from us. Before he takes another one of us down with him."
"Both of you stop it!" I stepped in. "Leo, he's not taking another one of us away. So stop blaming him for what happened to Max, and blame the person who actually did this to her. The man who's already in jail."
"You all are crazy," Leo said. "I'm ashamed to even call you guys my brothers."
I couldn't stop myself from tackling him into the ground. I started punching him repeatedly and he did the same.
Ryden ran out of the room and a couple seconds later, David ran in and tried to break us up, but failed. The boys then jumped in and managed to pull us apart.
"What is wrong with you two," David said.
"He's insane!" Leo and I said at the same time.
David turned to the other boys.
"Who started it?" He asked.
"Honestly, we don't know," Austin said. "Leo said a lot of mean things and Chris got mad and punched him."
"What did Leo say?" David asked.
"A lot of things about Cole and how he's ashamed to call us brothers," Ryden said.
"Leo," David said. "Why would you even say something like that? You know how these boys feel about you and Max."
"I didn't mean it," Leo said. "I'm sorry."
"Chris, I don't know what all these blow ups are about but it needs to stop," David said. "I understand that this is a frustrating time right now. But punching people and yelling at people who did nothing wrong is not okay. You need to control it."
"I'm sorry," I said. "I really am trying."
"If Max can do it, so can you," David said.
"I know."
"The both of you aren't going to school today," David said.
"But what about probation?" Leo asked.
"I'm telling them what happened," David said. "I can't have you both getting into fights. You both need to cool down before you go anywhere. You are staying in your room until I call you guys. You're going to make up."
David and the rest of the boys went down stairs and me and Leo layed down on our beds. This is going to be a long day.
