We've been laying here for what seems like forever. David never called us down. The only reason why I didn't just leave is because I know he's right. I can't take the chance of getting into a fight.
Leo has annoyed me all day. It took everything within me not to repeat my action from earlier.
He didn't do anything, but just looking at him makes me mad.
Ashamed to call us brothers?! For standing up for Cole?! For wanting to be there for Cole?!
I mean, I know Cole's actions aren't the best, but to blame him for what happened to Max?
I know pretty much everyone here blames Cole. But if I'm going to be honest, Max shouldn't have gotten involved. She should've walked away. She should've came staight home.
Cole needs a family. I don't understand why we shouldn't be that for him. Just because he made a mistake?
"Your thoughts are so loud I can here them from here," Leo said.
"I didn't say anything," I said.
"You don't have too" he said. "I already know what you're thinking. 'Why am I so upset with Cole? Why can't I give him a chance?"
"Why can't you?"
"I don't feel like he deserves one,"he said.
"Do you think we did?" I asked.
"What do you mean?"
"We were worse than he was," I said. "Did we deserve a chance when David took us in?"
He was silent.
"No we didn't," I said. "We stole from David, we shot him. We deserved no chances. But he gave us so many of them. It took time, but here we are now. We're finally with someone who loves us, no matter what we've done. And we changed because of it. Now its our turn to do the same for Cole."
"I guess you're right," he said. "But he needs to put his part in. He's not putting anything in with him sneaking out all the time."
"He's adjusting," I said. "Give him time."
He nodded.
"I'm really sorry about what I said," he said. "I'm actually proud of you all."
"I'm sorry I had to punch you in the face to get you to notice that," I said. We both laughed.
The other boys walked in, talking really loud.
I just turned back around towards the wall and tuned them out. Or at least tried.
"Did you find Cole?" Leo asked.
"No," Eddie said. "He'll show up eventually."
"Can you guys quiet down a little bit? I have a head ache," I asked.
"Sorry," they all said in unison.
"Did David say we can come down now?" I asked.
"No," Ryden said. "Why?"
"So I can get some pain killers or something," I said.
"I'll get some for you," Eddie said, walking out the door.
"So how was your extra day of from school?" Austin asked.
"Boring," I said.
Eddie came back with some pills and I swallowed them.
"Do you want us to get out?" Charlie asked. "So you can rest."
"Yes please,"I said.
All of them but Leo left. Pretty soon, I was asleep.
