The Chess Tournament

Hi! I promise I will TRY to update faster but no promises! I am really very sorry that I take forever!

"Well bye then." I smiled and waved. "Bye" and I walked away. I was pretty sure that I had a break next. I hadn't memorized my timetable yet. I started rummaging through my bag while I was walking. Wait, what am I doing? "Accio timetable" my timetable came flying into my hands. "Let's see..."

History of Magic 8:00-8:45

Divination 8:50-9:35

Transfiguration 9:40-10:25

Break

Charms 11:30-12:15

Lunch

Defense Against the Dark Arts 1:15-2:00

Herbology 2:05-2:50

Potions 2:55-3:35

I don't know why they put charms in between lunch and break. Anyway, it seems I do have a break now. I walk to the Gryffindor common room so I can hang out with Marlene and Alice. And maybe James... Says a tiny voice in my head.

I felt very weird because I was arguing with my head. "You alright there Lily?" Of course the last person I wanted to see. "Yeah I'm fine. I was just going to the Gryffindor common room to hang out with Marlene and Alice." I told James. "I'll come too." Of course he was coming too. "Okay" I replied and we continued walking. When we reached the portrait hole I realized I didn't know the password. "Do you know the password?" I asked James. "Galloping Gillyweed." The portrait hole opened and we walked in. "Thanks for the password."

"You're welcome."

"Lily! James! Don't you two look cozy together! Come and join us!" Sirius yelled across the room. My cheeks went bright red. Sirius was sitting on the couch with Remus, Peter, Marlene and Alice. I reluctently walked over. Apparently my pace was too slow for James though because he started pulling my arm towards the couch. When we got there, James sat next to Sirius and I sat in between him and Marlene. "So... What do you want to do?" Sirius asked to the group. What was there to do? I thought. "Oh! I know, how about a chess tournament!" James suggested loudly. There were mumbles of agreement and next thing I knew we were all gathered around a tiny table deciding who would go first. "Well it was your idea... maybe you should go first." Peter said to James. "Good idea, Wormtail! Who wants to play me?" No one volunteered mostly because James never lost at chess due to the fact that he was very good at it. I am also very good at it. "I'll play you."
"That's the spirit, Lily!" We sat down and started playing. It was particularly difficult but I ended up winning. I was unbeatable. Next was Peter. I beat him in about a minute. Then was Marlene. I beat her in three minutes. Then Sirius had ideas and I beat him in two minutes. Next was Remus. He was a little bit difficult. I beat him in five minutes. Last was Alice. I beat her too. I was the All-Time-Chess-Champian!

I'm sorry it took so long!! This chapter is a little short too. I was in a bit of a hurry.
