On Wednesday at 6:25 I made my way to to the library to meet James for tutoring. I was surprised he hasn't made fun of me for needing it yet. I find myself being surprised at him a lot lately. He still hasn't asked me out once. I smile as I meet him at a table near the back of the library.
He looks at me and his face immediately lights up. My face turns as red as my hair as I sit next to him. There is a stack of transfiguration books on the table. I frown as I remind myself what I'm here for. "Just so you know I'm a lost cause. I'll never be good at transfiguration." He frowns. "Don't talk like that. You'll be amazing at it once I'm done with you."
I smile sheepishly and he grins back. We get to work and I find that I'm actually starting to understand transfiguration. We decide to stop at 7:30. I hate to admit that I actually had fun. On our way back to the heads common room, we ran into a little first year asking where their common room was. "Well what house are you in?" James asked a bit impatiently. "H-Hufflepuff." She stuttered, surprised with James' tone. I turned to glare at him, but he wasn't paying attention. "Lily, you can head back to the room, I got this." He flashed me a quick smile. "OK bye."
I continued to our common room. I wonder why James was being so rude to that little girl? I walked in and found Sirius reading on the couch. I cleared my throat loudly. He looked up at me with an annoyed expression. "Yes?"
"What are you doing here?" I ask with authority. He rolls his eyes, unaffected by my tone. "Well I'm trying to read." Now it was my turn to roll my eyes.
"Since when do you read?""Since I learned how to read."
"I mean since when do you read voluntarily?" I asked impatiently. Just then James came in looking out of breath. He looked back and forth between me and Sirius and his expression turned to panicked. "Sirius, can I talk to you for a second please?" He shot a meaningful glance at him and he got up and went through the portrait hole with James. While it was closing I ran and caught it and kept it open a little bit so I could listen.
"Why were you arguing with her?"
"Because she was being bossy and nosy! Why does she care what I'm doing?"
"Listen just try to be nice to her. For me please? I want her to like me and you're not helping." I heard Sirius sigh. "Fine. But you owe me Prongs." I hurried and sat back on the couch and twiddled my thumbs, trying not to look guilty.
James sat next to me and shot me a confused look. "Lily, why are you out of breath?"
"Oh, er, jumping jacks." I invented wildly. "Why?"
"Gotta stay in shape, work up my muscles. But never mind me, what was that about?" It was his turn to make something up. "Just, telling him how...er, nice you look today. Right Padfoot?" He elbowed Sirius in the ribs. "Ow! Er, yeah" I smirked at them. "Well couldn't you say that to me here? You didn't have to leave." I knew I stumped him then by the look on his face. I laughed and decided to let it go. "Just kidding." I laughed and looks of relief spread on their faces. I know I should probably be mad at them for talking about me but I wasn't. Well I was a little mad at Sirius for calling me bossy and nosy.
"Well I'm going to go to my dorm to do some homework. 'Bye." I said and added to Sirius in a whisper, "and sorry if I was bossy and nosy. I'm known to do that sometimes." I smirked at him and made my way to my dorm leaving a shocked Sirius behind.
Hey I'm sooo sorry I took forever to update but I was busy with homework and all that so.....
