Lily's POV

BEEP! BEEP!

I awake with a start. At first, I am blinded by the light of the sun shining through my window, but my eyes soon adjust. I quickly turn off my alarm clock and bolt out of bed. I run to my closet and pick out a blue sweater and a pair of jeans. "LILY!" My mum calls from downstairs, "BREAKFAST!"

"Coming mum!" I yell back. I run to the bathroom and brush my hair and teeth. I bolt downstairs. "There you are Lily." My mum says when I get downstairs. I go into the kitchen and find my sister, Petunia and my dad. "Hey honey." My dad said when I walked into the kitchen. "Hi dad." I reply. "Hi Petunia." I say to my sister. She pretends I don't exist, which makes me sad. I take a seat next to Petunia, hoping that she'll have to talk to me at some point. Suddenly, an owl flys into the kitchen and lands in the middle of the table. Petunia was yelling, "Lily, get that stupid owl out of here!"

"He's bringing my Hogwarts letter."

"I don't care what it's bringing!"

"He'll be gone in a little bit."

"I want it gone now!"

After that I just ignore her. I pick up the letter the owl was carrying and he flys away. The letter was a bit heavier than usual. My heart did a flip; what if I'm head girl. I carefully rip the envelope and the head girl badge slipped out! My head girl badge!

James POV

KNOCK! KNOCK!

"James, wake up!"

I quickly sit up in my bed, alarmed by the sudden noise. "I'm up!" I yell sleepily to my mum outside the door. I hear her walk away. I get out of bed and put a t-shirt and a pair of jeans. I walk downstairs. "It's about time, prongs!" Sirius yelled at me. "Shut up Padfoot." I retaliated. "Where's breakfast?" I ask mum, I'm starving. "It's done but we're waiting for your father to eat."

"When's he coming home?"

"He should be home in five minutes."

"I'm starving, mum. Do we have to wait for dad?"

"Of course we do." She answered. Dad works at the Ministry of Magic, so he usually comes home late. A few seconds later, I hear the door open then close. "Dad's home!" I yell to mum. He walks into the kitchen where mum and Sirius are waiting. "Hey honey." He says sleepily to mum. "Can I eat now?" I ask impatiently. "Sure." Mum acknowledged. As soon as we were about to dig in, an owl flew in through the window. "Their Hogwarts letters are here!" Squealed mum. She was way too excited over our letters. I picked up my letter. It was a bit heavier than usual. I ripped it open and I couldn't believe my eyes. I was head boy!

So that's my first chapter! I'm sorry Lily's POV is longer than James' ! Please comment!!!
