Truth Or Dare

Later that day, after all classes were over, I was in my dormitory and I heard a knocking on the window. I went over and opened it and a large barn owl came bursting in holding a letter. The owl landed on my bed and I grabbed the letter. I looked closer and saw that it was more of a note than a letter. It was very brief

Meet me in my dormitory at 11:30 pm. Don't be late!

It was very messy. I looked at the clock. It was 10:30. I had an hour. I wonder why I had to meet him in his dormitory? In no less than five minutes after I got the letter, I heard very urgent knocks on my door. I went to answer it and in came Alice and Marlene. "What are you doing here? How do you know the password?" Marlene chuckled. "First, do we really need an excuse to see our friend? And second, James told us. Anyway, did you get the letter telling you to meet him in his dormitory?"

"Yeah...How did you know about that?" This time Alice spoke, "'Cause we got it too! Silly Lily!"

"Please don't call me that. Do you know what it's about?" I asked trying to seem like I didn't care when I really wanted to know. Although I was kinda hoping it would be just me and him...Not that I would tell anyone that. Especially James. Not that I fancy him either...I don't!

"No. Do you?"

"Nope."

"Well there is a reason why we came to see you. You need to get ready!" Marlene stated. "Ready for what? Is the meeting thingy a formal?"

"No but you want to look good for James don't you?" And before I knew it, Alice was digging through my my dressers and Marlene was taking out my ponytail. "Ouch! What are you doing?"

"Making you pretty!" I sighed and let them get on with it. In about a half an hour, I was 'ready'. My hair was down and made sleek and shiny by magic. Alice wanted to put me in see-through pajamas but I put my foot down. So I was wearing a tank top and comfy shorts. The only reason Alice was happy was that I was wearing lacey bra and underwear. I only agreed to this because no one would see it.

We were all sitting on my bed and Marlene insisted on doing my make-up. Since there was no point arguing, she was now applying the second coat of mascara to my eyelashes. They were begging for details on me and James. I kept telling them that there was nothing to tell but they weren't listening. And there was nothing to tell. We were friends. That was it. The end. For 25 minutes we were still discussing me and James, when I finally suggested that we should get going so were not late. They agreed and we walked to James's dormitory. I knocked three times on the door and James came out and gave me a hug. "Lily! So glad you could make it!" When he let go I was pushed inside and I stared around in amazement.

The whole room seemed to be bleeding. There was red everywhere. After my eyes adjusted I saw that there was tons of Gryffindor things. Gryffindor banners, Gryffindor posters and even a Gryffindor blanket! "Woah."

"I know, impressive isn't it?" James said, suddenly showing up at my side. And then he went to greet Sirius, Remus and Peter. In two short minutes we were all sitting in a big circle including me, Alice, Marlene, Peter, Sirius, Remus, James and Frank Longbottom who Alice fancied. In the middle of the circle there was a large bottle of fire whiskey and a small bottle of veritaserum(truth potion).

"Alright everyone! Today we will be playing truth or dare! Now this is no ordinary truth or dare! If someone refuses to do a truth or is suspected of answering untruthfully, they will drink some veritaserum. If someone refuses to do dare, they will have to drink a sip of fire whiskey. We clear?" James announced. There was a loud chorus of "yes sir!"

"Good! Now I will go first. Lily?" I sighed. "Dare." I knew it was risky, but what's life without a little risk? "I dare you to do a hand stand for fifteen seconds."

"But I can't do a hand stand."

"Well then, there's the fire whiskey." I sighed again and took a sip of fire whiskey. It burned down my throat. "OK my turn. I choose James."

"Dare" of course. I had the perfect one. "OK. I dare you to kiss Peter on the lips." He smirked and pecked Peter on the lips. He was good. James dared Frank to do the chicken dance and Frank asked Sirius how often he washed his hair. Three times a week. Sirius dared Peter to drink some fire whiskey. He refused so he ended up drinking it anyway. Peter asked Remus if he had a cat, which he seemed to think was hilarious. He doesn't. By then it was midnight.

The game went on. James never refused to do a dare. One time he was close. Sirius dared him to kiss me. He went for the fire whiskey but I told him that it was okay, that it was just a quick kiss. He seemed very cheered up by this. I would never tell anyone but my heart was pounding. He quickly kissed me on the lips.

Still later, I had one of the most embarrassing encounters of my life. Sirius asked me when, why and who my first kiss was. Now I don't have an active love life at all. I preferred to focus on school. I had to tell him that my first kiss was James earlier. James seemed very surprised by this.

The game ended at around two in the morning when almost everyone was exhausted. All of the guests had to sneak out to the Gryffindor common room. I was about to leave to my dormitory when James said he wanted to ask me something. He looked very nervous.
