Lily and James Forever

The Train Part 2

                                                                                             James POV

 "Hey Prongs!" Sirius yelled at me as soon as I got into the compartment, "how'd it go?" 

"Wonderful!" Remus looked confused,"How was it wonderful?"

"Well to recap, I showed up two minutes late and interrupted Evans' speech."

"Why did you interrupt her?"

"To say hi to Moony."

"That does not sound wonderful."

"Evans didn't yell at me once." Sirius and Remus looked shocked. "Congrats Prongs!" Sirius said after the news sank in, "Maybe she tolerates you now!" Sirius and Remus laughed. I didn't think this was funny. Peter was confused. "Anyway," Sirius started after he stopped laughing, "I think we should start off the year with a Big Bang!"

"You mean a prank?" Peter asked, stupidly. "Of course a prank, Wormtail!"

"You guys can do a prank but I'm head boy now and have responsibilities." Sirius looked shocked, Remus looked amused and Peter looked confused. "YOU CANT GIVE UP PRANKING!" Sirius shouted, "ARE YOU CRAZY?"

"Maybe if I start acting responsible, Evans will like me."

"I think that girl has finally drove you mad." Sirius states in disappointment. "I think your right." I respond.  "I agree." Remus says in agreement . Suddenly the compartment door opens and Evans comes in followed by Marlene and Alice. They sit down across from us. "Can we help you ladies?" Sirius asks. Evans is just staring at me. I don't comment because she would get mad at me. She is so beautiful. She has grown a bit over the summer. Then I realize I'm staring too. I quickly avert my eyes. "Right Prongs? Prongs? JAMES POTTER, PAY ATTENTION!" 

"Huh?"

"Were you listening?"

"No." Evans answers for me and rolls her eyes. "What were we talking about?" 

"Some Slytherins ambushed our compartment." Evans said,annoyance in her voice. Suddenly I was furious. How dare those Slytherins even think about hurting Lily. "Are you hurt?"

"No we're fine."

"Was Snape there?"

"Yes." 

"I am going to kill that slimy git!" but I stay seated. I know Evans would hate me if I hurt him, even though he called her the "m" word. 

                                                                                 Lily POV

When I walked into the compartment Alice yelled, "Hi Lily!" like I've been gone for days. "Hey Alice!"

"How was the meeting?"

"Good I guess."

"What happened?" That's when I realized Marlene wasn't there. "Where's Marlene?"

"She went to the bathroom. What happened? Who's the head boy?"

"Potter."

"oh no. What did he do this time?"

"He showed up two minutes late and interrupted me during my speech to say hi to Remus." suddenly Severus walked in. "I'm not going to forgive you." I said and folded my arms across my chest.  Then Avery and Mulciber walk in. "What are you doing here?" I ask while pulling out my wand. "We need this compartment." Avery spoke for the group. That's when Marlene came back. "What are you doing here?" a look of disgust on her face. "we need this compartment" Avery repeated himself. Now everyone had their wands out. I looked over at Severus. He was mouthing "Please"I mouthed back "fine"I was very annoyed at Severus. I was going to get him back for this. "Come on guys, it's not worth it." and we walk out.  "where are we going to go now?" that's when we passed the compartment with the marauders in it. Alice and Marlene were desperately looking at me. "fine." 

We walk in the compartment. Sirius asks "Can we help you ladies?" like the idiot he is. Alice recounts what happened. I look at James. He's grown a lot over the summer. His glasses are sliding down the bridge of his nose. I inwardly giggle.  "Right Prongs? Prongs? JAMES POTTER, PAY ATTENTION!" Sirius yells at him because he's staring at me. "huh?"

"were you listening?" 

"No" I answer for him and roll my eyes. "What were we talking about?"

"Some Slytherins ambushed our compartment."

"are you hurt?"

"No we're fine."

"Was Snape there?"

"Yes."

"I'm going to kill that slimy git!" but he doesn't get up.
