"I don't want to do this anymore, Candice! Why are we doing this if we don't even want to kill him?"

Candice sighed as she looked back at Genevieve, her heart aching at the sight. The Omega had dried tear marks on her cheeks and her eyes were still full of tears. The Alpheta kissed her forehead sweetly, brushing the brunette hair back.

"I know, love. We're doing this so Mitch will stay safe. People like him and I are okay the way we are. We are not 'broken' or genetically impure. We are are a rarity that makes the world a better place. We are needed on this planet and Mitch must stay alive. That's why I want to save him."

Genevieve nodded, sighing as she held her Mate's hand. She brushed back the blonde hair, smiling when she noticed how soft it was. The smile turned into a frown as she looked at Candice seriously, her eyes full of love and compassion.

"Why does your dad want to kill Divergents if you are one?"

Candice sighed, shaking her head angrily. Her father, the leader of The Committee, pretty much disowned her when she discovered her special trait. After her mom passed away, he had no choice but to take her in. She was only five years old when he started The Committee, threatening her with her life. There were moments when a gun was held at her forehead or a knife was put on her side. Since then, she was traumatized by the man she was forced to call a father.

It was worse when she came out as asexual. Her dad yelled at her and locked her in her room, keeping her in there for two days without any food or water. He told her constantly that she was supposed to have sex since she was a female and that she was 'unrighteous' because of her lack of sexual activity. She was told she must have children in order to 'be pure of her Divergent self'. She hates herself for the longest time until she met Genevieve.

Sweet, little Gen. Her parents are against Divergents and taught their daughter to hate them too. The young Omega, who has a big heart, refused to do so. She loved everyone for who they are and want to be. Being a lesbian was hard to deal with because of the bulging she received, but meeting Candice made her happy.

During the lessons about how 'terrible' Divergents are, they sat by each other and gave each notes. They snuck out during after hours and kissed each other whenever they could. Right before Kirstin joined The Committee, Candice proposed to Genevieve and they were going to elope so they wouldn't have to worry about their parents shaming them for loving each other. Everything was going the way they wanted it to...

Until Kirstin came along.

They were so close to being married then she ruined it for them. Their lives, including Mitch's, are on the line and they must protect him and the other Divergents. They just end Candice's father's evil reign so Divergents won't die anymore.

"You don't need to tell me. It's okay. I love you, my Divergent."

Candice smiled as she kissed her Mate, bringing her in close. She can't be anymore thankful for this beautiful person in her arms.

"I love you, my Omega."

"Do you really want a divorce?"

"No, I can't stand mad at you forever. I should have listened to you."

Alyssa smiled weakly as Kevin kissed her gently, making sure to not hurt her chest when he did. He kissed the top of her head, the baldness breaking his heart a bit.
