"I taste you on my lips and I can't get rid of you. Yeah, you're worse than nicotine."

"So, what have you been up to?" Derrick asked.Donnie should've involved Nick more into their conversation but Derrick was present. And when Derrick was present, nothing in the world mattered to her. It wasn't often this piece of hunky junky talked to her.
"Oh, you know I've been so busy. I'm always going to parties and stuff. I'm a hoot with the party goers."
Derrick laughed. "A hoot? Donnie, you're such a dork."
Donnie blushed. She hadn't meant that saracastic ally but she couldn't even take herself seriously. Her? A party goer? Get out of town!
"Okay, you got me. I'm not a party kind of gal." She said, nervously twisting her headphones.
Derrick's eyebrows rose up suggestively. "Then tell me Don, what kind of girl are you?"
Donnie's blush deepened. She could feel her heart thumping wildly out of her chest.
"Um...uh." She stuttered.
"Do you want me to tell you?" Derrick asked. His voice had gone quiet. An almost whisper.
"Uh.." She continued to stutter.
He breathily laughed, "I think you're a beautiful kind of girl."
Bam. Whoosh. Pow.
The pick up line to fool any one. To be honest, she had not known what to expect. She wanted to fall so hard for his words. Was she not already head over heels for him?
But that line was just so ridiculous. It took everything in her not to laugh out loud.
"Oh well gee, that was sweet." She said.
Derrick's smile dropped. He looked disappointed and she started to freak out. Did she not react well? Did she say something offensive?
Derrick scratched the back of his head. "I'll see you around Don."
And Derrick was gone. Gone in a cloud of dust. He might as well have taken off. Sprinted his way from the freakish girl.
She wanted to believe it but she swore she saw a small dusting of red on his cheeks. That couldn't be so. Why would Derrick be blushing?
Donnie stood there dumbfounded. She had no clue what she had done. All she did was thank him? What was the problem?
Suddenly, claps filled the air. Slow clapping. Donnie turned around. Nick sat, slumped in his swing and he had a wide smirk on his face.
"You are one clueless girl, aren't ya Donnie?" Nick said.
Donnie crossed her arms. "What are you talking about, curly?"
"Oh nothing. Nothing at all." He said.
He continued to swing, keeping the creepy smirk on his face. It was starting to irritate Donnie more than creep her out though.
"Well, it's been fun curly but I think I'll take my leave." Donnie said, stuffing her headphones back into her ears before he could protest again. She began fast walking back down the path, not daring to look back.
DU LIEST GERADE
The Great Musical Wizard
RomanceDonnie is about everything music. She might as well have lyrics tattooed on her ribs. It's the very core of her being. Nick likes sports and everything manly. He lives and breathes the outdoors. The woods, the sweat, and the overall manliness of it...
