The word had gotten around about the lie she had created. Now, a select few more than she wanted knew she "liked" Jacob. It was getting a bit out of hand.

The guilt was eating her up inside. She knew she liked Nick. But her disgusting pride was getting in the way. Her best friend had already been on and on about how unattractive he was. And that's the reason Donnie didn't want to tell anyone. She felt embarrassed and then she was disgusted for being embarrassed. That wasn't fair to Nick. Why should she care about how he looked? She has spoken to him and is slowly getting pieces of him. The more she knew, the more attractive he got in her eyes. To her, he held the moon. He held it in his hands. And the reflection shined off of him to other people. He was a different kind of light. Not the bright, overpowering, warm light but the gentle caress of a moon's light. The light bright enough to help those in need of being lost. That's what he was to her. A light guiding her. But just like the moon, eventually she would have to say goodbye.

But before she did, she would spend every waking moment they could together. Not as friends, no she wanted more. She liked him much more than she let on. And she had planned on telling everybody. Someday.
