Complete chaos erupted in the cave as Hurricane, his friends, and the fifty MudWings all charged into the cave. Startled RainWings instantly disappeared and shocked MudWings dropped their food and clumsily grabbed their spears. According to how quickly the enemy responded, these dragons must have extraordinary reflexes.

Hurricane fought the very first dragon he saw, an IceWing, and had beheaded him in three seconds. As he headed toward a group of SkyWings, he saw Fire-Claw quite literally slicing up a SandWing while Indigo played a game of hide-and-go-kill with three other RainWings. Hurricane defeated the SkyWings with only a few scratches dealt to him. He kept fighting, unaware of what was going on around him, or how long he had been in there. He received a huge bruise as well as three minor, but painful gashes. When he had dispatched an unfortunate NightWing, he found himself staring into the eyes of the traitor, Puffin. Rage swelled within him as he remembered that Puffin was the reason Splash was in her cage, bleeding.

"You!" he growled.

Puffin put up that devilish grin again, blood dripping from her talons. She then spoke, but it wasn't her normal, high-pitched voice. It was deeper, richer, and darker. "Hurricane," she said. "I was merely doing what my master was telling me to! After all, shadow souls aren't free spirits!"

Hurricane gaped at her. Shadow souls were evil servants of the Dragonlord. They enjoyed being sent on the evil quests their master took them on. They mercilessly killed any dragon in their way, and left a trail of death wherever they went. What was worse, was that they could take over other dragons' bodies! A very evil shadow soul was Anaia. She dazed her enemies with her charming voice then went for the kill. She was the only female shadow soul, as well as the most evil.

Hurricane glared at Anaia, who, he realized, had taken over Puffin. But he had thought the Dragonlord was a myth! How could this be?

Anaia smiled, again, at him, then lunged at him. She was a devil of a fighter, and had added seven more gashes to the three he had all ready received in the space of five minutes. Hurricane couldnt keep up with her. She was just too fast! He knew that he would drop to the floor at any minute and die if he didnt do something. Suddenly, time slowed down. He once again saw Fire-Claw, grappling with a burly MudWing, Oasis was buried under a pile of SeaWings, her tail plunged into one of their chests. Hurricane then noticed his bracelet glowing uncontrollably. Time resumed to its normal pace and Hurricane fell to the ground. He then realized that he was glowing himself, a saphire aura. Then he stood up straight and looked Anaia right in the eyes. Then he spoke. It want his normal voice, however. It was deeper, stronger, commanding. "Leave Anaia, of the shadow souls!" he boomed. "Leave and never return to this dragon's body!"

Anaia froze in terror then let out a terrible screetch. Hurricane bet that Ripple could hear it all the way from Jade Mountain! Then, something shadowy exited from Puffin. Puffin, herself, fell to the ground unconscious. Hurricane was exhausted. What had he just done?

He heard the sound of talons landing on stone near him. ANOTHER DRAGON? WHEN WOULD THIS STOP?

He looked up, reluctantly, to look his enemy straight in the eyes. He was face to face with the black-marked SeaWing.

"Greetings," said the SeaWing. "My name is Typhoon, general of this army."

Hurricane glared at the SeaWing. "YOU were behind this?"

"No," he said. "My master was."

Again that master word. Hurricane hardly had any time to think more before Typhoon charged. Hurricane couldnt believe the enormous amount of strength Typhoon had, especially when wielding his spear. Hurricane couldnt land a blow on him at all! Whenever he tried, Typhoon just blocked it! To add to that, warriors kept attacking Hurricane, trying to assist their general in anyway possible. Hurricane was bleeding everywhere now. He had to stop. When he hesitated however, Typhoon lunged and broke both or Hurricane's wings! He screamed in pain as he heard the crack of his bones break. Typhoon then chuckled and said, "Mother and Father didnt really teach you fighting now did they?"
