Growing up

Checking my reflection in the mirror I went downstairs. Viviana followed me as usual. It has been a week since she hatched and she has been trailing me the entire time. Wherever I go she goes too. And if she doesn't see me she freaks out and goes into some sort of crazy panic mode where she tries to fly but fails.

"Good morning!" Emma said brightly as I came down.

"Good morning sis'" I replied, "What's for breakfast?"

"Whatever you want! We have milk, some fruit and a rat that tried to sneak into my room this morning."

"Huh?" I was confused.

Emma laughed, "I'm just messing with you! That was the breakfast menu for Vivi but you can have whatever's in the fridge."

"Great, a dragon gets a gourmet meal and I eat any scraps I find."

"Well if you consider a dead uncooked rat a gourmet meal sure."

"Well I'm not hungry anyway. I just want to feed Vivi and take her out and teach her to fly."

She has been growing like crazy. Dragons take around two months to fully grow but at the rate she's going I think she'll be an adult in 3 weeks time. Mom says its a good thing but I should also be careful because she ages faster than other dragons and therefore has a chance to die of old age before anyone else. This thought doesn't cheer me up.

Pouring some milk into a bowl I put it on the ground in front of Vivi and she happily drank it. I love watching her, she is so funny. The way she just looks at you and the things she does just make me laugh. After she was done I picked her up and carried her to the door. She is getting quite heavy now to be honest.

"Bye Emma!" I called.

"See ya," Came the reply. I opened the door and went out. Maybe if I was lucky I would see Eve practicing on her dragon Snowflake. It was quite bizarre why she chose to name her dragon Snowflake as it was jet black with no bright colors at all. But she was just crazy like that.

I walked to the park, trying my best to carry Vivi but she just kept squirming everywhere and it was hard to hold her. Finally I put her down on the ground and decided to let her walk.

"There, now its much easier for me." I said to her. She looked at me with her innocent eyes as if asking what she did wrong. I laughed and continued my walk to the park. She obediently followed. The park is somewhere I go all the time and I really like it. Luckily Vivi seems to like it too, and that's good because when she grows up we are going to practice flying there everyday.

Suddenly I felt strong wind blowing against my face and Vivi jumped on my chest knocking me to the ground. It was a good thing she did so too otherwise I would have been hit by Eve and her dragon landing.

"Whoa, calm down girl!" Eve yelled and tried to gently land her dragon. Snowflake looked like she has been flying around for hours, and was quite exhausted.

"Now that's how you make an entrance!" I called to Eve who jumped down from the saddle and walked up to me.

"Well not really," She said, "But its how I do it."

I laughed and pet Snowflake. She didn't mind when people touched her but she wouldn't allow anyone else to ride her. Only Eve got to do that.

"Hello Vivi!" Eve gushed and tried to pick her up who jumped away. I grinned.

"She doesn't seem to like it when people touch her." I explained.

"Thats quite obvious."

"Emma tried to pet her last week and the result was a fiery kitchen so I don't think its a good idea"
