In that moment, every ounce of energy that I had left seemingly evaporated into thin air. Every single bit of oxygen excaped my lungs, and I felt as if my blood stopped flowing. No. This can't be true. No. This isn't real

"Don't you dare look back, just keep your eyes on me. I said you're holding back---"

I shot my eyes open after hearing the sound of my alarm, waking me from a seemingly endless dream. What's worse than a bad dream is having one recurring dream that is actually once a part of your reality.

I quickly got up and washed my face to shake the bad thoughts away. I look at the clock, only to realize that it's just past 6am. And that today is Saturday.

Seems like I forgot to turn off my alarms for the weekend. Ugh.

But since I was already awake, I turned on the tv to watch some news while I prepare some milk and cereals. Who am I kidding? I don't watch the news.

So as I sat down the couch with my bowl of cereals, got the remote and flipped to Disney channel. There. That's more like it.

I am still way too tired after studying out with Logan yesterday. That man is a hustler when it comes to studying.
We studied the entire day, plus the entire evening, only stopping for meals and occassional walks just outside the cafe to stand up for a few minutes to prevent our legs from being edematous.

I shake my head in disbelief that I actually managed to study for more than 12 hours straight. Atleast I have got today to rest up a bit, then go back to studying later.

So I got my blanket and laid down the couch, Phineas and Ferb™ still playing on the screen of the TV, lulling me back to sleep.

After what seemed like hours, my doorbell rang. So I got up to look at the peep hole and got a little too excited to open the door.

"Mom!" I rushed to hug my mom as tight as I could and she returned the gesture with equal enthusiasm.

After seconds of pure endearment, we both let go and I helped her with her things and lead her into the unit.

Just after placing her things on top of the counter, "Alexandra,"

Oh no. This is bad. Nothing good comes after mom calling me by my full name.

Looking back at her with a gulp, "Yes, mother?"

She just held me by the shoulders and smiled. I released the breath I was holding and smiled back at her. Whew. Looks like I was worried for nothin--and just like that, she suddenly flicked my forehead.

Yelping in pain, "Aw! What'd you do that for???"

"You silly girl! Never bothering to come home. How long has it been already? Two, no, three months?!"

"I was busy." I replied with a nervous smile. "We have so much studying to do these days."

"Studying? Yet here you are on a bright saturday morning lying on your couch."

How did she even figure that out?!
I glanced at a mirror only to see my horrific bed hair-- Well that must have given her a clue.

"Since you expressed no intention of going home, even if I specifically said you should do so, I decided to go visit you instead."  She said while opening one of her bags.

Oh crap. I totally forgot that I promised I'd go home today.

"I am really sorry, okay? Well, I do appreciate that you went out of your way to meet me here." I hugged her tight wishing she'd forget this little mishap.
