A/N: I'M SO SORRY about the not updating thing. I've been diagnosed with a psychological disorder and I've been going to the psychologist a lot. I'm starting school soon too so i haven't had time. Don't kill me. Enjoy!~
I was shaking.
My eyes opened and looked up at my fathers face. He was shaking me awake.
I groaned.
"Come on Mari, wake up. Schools starts today."
I pulled the sheets up over my head and rolled over. My dad pulled then back down.
"Up. Now."
I sighed and got up.I was going to dread this. I was already dreading it. I have enough shit to deal with. I don't know if i can deal with the stressful drama of high school without going insane.
My room was dark but dimly lit by the barely rising sun off in the Californian horizon.
I showered and dug through my closet. Black skinny jeans, orange t shirt, grey jacket with a design on the back, and black converse. That'll do
I let my hair down and it draped across my shoulders. My hair almost reached my waist. I think i should cut it.
I made my way down the creaky stairs and into the kitchen. My mother was up and cooking bacon. The appetizing aroma made my mouth water. At least one good thing will happen today. I strolled over to the mahogany oak dinner table my dad found at a garage sale.
"Ready for school Mari?" She asked
"Yeah.." I replied unenthusiastically.
She placed a plate of bacon, an egg, ham, cheese, and whole wheat bread sandwich with a glass of juice.
"Thanks mom." I said in the same monotone unexcited tone.
"Lighten up Mari. I'll bet you'll make lots of new friends."
'Yeah, sure.' I retorted in my thoughts
I faked a smile.
I finished eating in silence and put my plate in the sink.
My father explained to me where the bus stop was. I grabbed my black messenger bag and I walked outside. It was still dark and very cloudy, making it darker. The sky was a dark purple. I began down the road.
As I was walking, i saw the same detective i met yesterday coming out of his car.
"Miss Vespucci!" He called to me.
I stopped in my tracks and looked in his direction.
"Thomas. Can i help you?"
He approached me and greeted me by taking off his hat, letting his messy hair loose. He looked like he hadn't slept in days. Bags were visible under his hazelnut colored eyes.
"I need to ask you something."
"What?"
"In the hospital underground yesterday, did you see anything strange?" He asked curiously. He seemed to posses a great interest in my experience.
"Everything i saw in there was strange."
"I mean, like, i know this is going to sound insane, but an animal? Creature?"
My memory flashed the image of the faceless beast in the hallway. Chasing me and me slamming the door and breaking its arm off.
He silently stood my me, waiting for my response.
