I woke up one morning. The golden sunlight was shining brightly through my window. I sat up and yawned. I've been dreading this day. Today was the day we moved. I looked at my digital clock next to my bed. It said 10:34am. I got out of bed and made my way to the bathroom. My brown hair was messy. I threw off my clothes and hit the shower. The hot water felt nice on my body.
After I was done showering, I put on some jean shorts, a white t-shirt and black converse. I brushed my hair and put it in a bun. Some of my bangs fell on my face. I just left then there. I slowly made my way down the stairs and into the kitchen to find my parents already awake and putting our belongings into cardboard boxes.
"Mornin Mari." My dad said.
"Mornin." I replied.
"Here."
he handed me a plate of eggs, pancakes, and bacon with a cup of orange juice.
"Thanks..." I said almost annoyingly.
"What's wrong kid?"
I sighed.
"I don't wanna move dad."
"I know sweetheart. I know. But don't worry we'll come back to visit."
The moment he said that, I was filled with joy. I looked up at my fathers eyes.
"Really?" I asked.
"Of course." He replied.
I smiled slightly. I might see Zayne again. I have a small crush on him. I've had it for years. He's so good-looking and so sweet.
I finished eating and walked to the living room with my dad.
"So..what do I do first dad?" I said.
"Go put the things in your room in boxes."
"Alright."
I put my plate in the sink and began walking up the stairs. I felt a cold breeze hit my back. My skin got goosebumps and my blood ran ice-cold. I shivered a bit.
"What the hell?" I said.
I turned my head and a black mist was heading towards me. I bolted as fast as my legs could possibly go and into my room. I shut the door and leaned against the wall then I slid down onto the freezing, hard, tile floor. I put my knees against my chest and wrapped my arms around my legs. I let a warm tear run down my cheek. What was happening? Am I going insane? I don't want to leave. I don't wanna leave Zayne. I calmed down and took a deep breath. I slowly got back on my feet and began packing my things.
-later that day-
We had finished packing everything and I had just loaded the last box into the truck.
"Mari!" I heard a voice yell.
I turned around and saw Zayne running in my direction. He embraced me. I slightly blushed a bit.
"You weren't gonna leave without saying goodbye were you?" He said with a smile on his face.
"Naw, of course not." I said.
"Goodbye, my best friend. I'll never forget you."
"Goodbye Zayne."
Then he leaned closer to me and kissed my lips. I closed my eyes and welcomed the kiss. My heartbeat began to beat faster. I pulled away after a few moments and looked up into his blue eyes.
"I love you." He said softly.
I just looked at him and gave him a small smile.
"Cm'on mari! We have to leave." My dad said from the front of the truck, he couldn't see us, but he knew I was loading the box.
I gave Zayne a kiss on the cheek and walked towards the truck I got in but Zayne and I's gaze never broke. My dad hit the gas as we drove away. I felt heartbroken inside.
