"Mom!! Have you seen my headphone around?!" I asked/yelled to my mom. Right now I'm finishing packing my things and the only thing missing is my headphone and let's just say I may or may not be a little late for my flight to NY.

"Here, y/n, you left it on top of the microwave" my mom said handing me them. "Sorry mom, at least you won't have to keep finding my things for me anymore" I said joking a little as I put the headphone inside my backpack.

"Okay, I'm ready! Let's go before I miss the flight" I said dragging my mom, my sister and bags to the car.

Once  we were all settled in the car we drove off to the airport.

On the way there my mon kept reminding me of the same things like "Don't forget to eat, brush your teeth, wash your clothes and please DON'T forget to use protection!"  "Mom why would use condoms when I ain't straight?!" "Sorry honey, i was just caught in the moment, MY ELDEST DAUGHTER IS GOING AWAY!" my mom said almost crying as we parked the car.

When I got my things out of the car I instantly hugged my mom and sister that were crying.

I already checked-in online, so I just had to dispatch my bags and wait until my flight was called.

"Hey Alex, when I come back I promise bring you something I know you will like, okay?" I asked my sister, by the way she's 16.

"Okay, but you also have to promise that we will talk every day." she answered pouting a little, which made me laugh and earn a punch in the arm from her "Okay okay" I said rubbing my arm.

"Flight 1331 to New York is now boarding" I looked at my mom and sister and hugged them tightly "Bye guys, I promise I'll talk to you when I land, LOVE YOU GUYS" I said letting go of the hug and walking through the gate.

I found my seat and waited until we took off.

Once we were in the air, I took my phone and plugged my headphone and started playing my playlist in shuffle. I was instantly meet with the the sound of Kiss Me by Ed Sheeran. Halfway through the song my eyes became heavier and I let the darkness take over me.

When I woke up it was time for landing, so I took my headphone off and turned my phone off.

After landing perfectly and picking my things I took a cab to the university campus, there I signed what I have to and went to my room. 

When I arrived in my room I was meet with a girl with blue eyes and dirty blonde hair.

"Hey, I'm Y/n your new roommate" i said to the girl extending my hand to shake

"Hey, I'm Kate. Just make sure to keep your things in place, my girlfriend hates a mess here in the room" she said. I nodded and smiled knowing I had found a thing in common between us.

After I finished unpacking my stuff and called my mom, me and Kate went to get something to eat and to get to know each other better

"...Yeah and that's how I ended up winning a black eye playing soccer" i finished telling one of my stories to Kate that was laughing really hard.

"I have this feeling that we are going to be really good friends" she said laughing a little. I nodded and laughed with her.

"Now come on, I still have to show you around" she said dragging me to a random direction. I held my fries tightly so it would fall and laughed.

A few hours later she finished showing me around the campus and we were back at our room eating a pizza.

I also learned that she is also studying photography. After finishing the pizza we were already in our pajamas so we went straight to bed, the last thing I remember before falling asleep is mumbling "let the journey begin".
