The next morning, I went straight up to the attic without a moments hesitation. But when I got there, I didn't see Junior anywhere. I ran back downstairs to mom screaming, "Junior's gone! Junior's gone!!" Mom said he is probably outside getting some fresh air. I ran outside and called for him, "JUNIOR, JUNIOR!!!" But there was nothing. I looked behind tree stumps, under branches, in the bushes, but still there was nothing. I slouched down by a tree stump thinking about Junior, thank you about how tiny he was, how shy he was. I got up to start heading for the house when I saw a shadow moving very quickly. I stood statue still... I saw some type of furry object I couldn't quite make out because it was hiding behind a couple of bushes. Then I noticed something, by the big furry object was... Junior! I started to run over to him but then I noticed that the big furry object was nothing else but a doe! I knew that Junior's mother had come back to get him. I was sad but I knew that he would be happier with his mother than he would be with me. I gave Junior a big hug and kissed him on the fore head and said goodbye. I watched them as they walked across the field and over the hills.
I walked back inside and noticed there was a huge box in the hall with a red ribbon around it. I asked mom what it was and she said, "Well, why don't you open it!" My heart started pounding, I opened the box and there, inside curled up, was a... PUPPY!
