The Forgotten

chapter 22 Encasing

Today is Sunday September 23, 2102. Johnathan and Alice had both spent the night at the house behind the school waiting for Johnathan's mother to come. She had told them to meet her there in an hour last night. But never showed. Johnathan and Alice both waited for her but as time ticked on they just decided to go to bed.

They slept in one of the bedrooms up stairs. They now lay in the bed awoke but day dreaming. They day dream about their future together hoping that in the near future they'll be able to get married.

Alice thought about herself as a mother. She pictured herself taking care of four healthy kids while Johnathan goes to work and come home every night and cooks dinner for the family.

Johnathan is a great cook. Once when Alice spent the night at his house for a sleep over, Johnathan made her breakfast. It was the most delicious breakfast she'd ever had, he made: pancakes, sausages, cheese covered eggs, and French toast sticks covered in syrup.

She can remember this day just like it was yesterday. Her mouth waters as she remembers, she haven't had breakfast in days, and really is carving a warm breakfast now.

Meanwhile Johnathan is thinking the same thing, he too wants a warm breakfast. His stomach growls, begging for food as he lay in the bed." I'm hungry". Johnathan says looking at Alice. "Me too". Alice says

They both decided to go to the kitchen and look for some food. Johnathan opens the refrigerator surprisingly the refrigerator was full of food. "There's food." Johnathan says as he reads the expiration date on the eggs that's in the refrigerator. "The food is not expired, we can eat." Johnathan says looking happily at Alice.

Johnathan prepares breakfast for the two of them. He's leaning on the counter as he cooks, trying not to hurt his broken leg. Alice watch him cook, admiring his culinary skills as he flips the pancakes with only a flip of his wrist.

Now done cooking, Alice and Johnathan sits at the large dining table in the dining room, eating breakfast. Johnathan rushes through the food on his breakfast plate, eating as if he haven't ate in years.

Alice watch him eat his breakfast as she eats. She looks at his leg, it is swollen and Johnathan is unable to sit properly in the dinning chair do to his knee being broken. He sits bearly on the sit as he eats.

"Johnathan we have to do something about your broken leg. You were grabbing the sheets in your fists last night. You only do that when your in pain." Alice says looking at Johnathan's leg.

"Go get something to make a makeshift cast for my broken leg." Johnathan says with the last of his food stuffed in his mouth.

Alice heads to the back yard searching for something useful for a makeshift cast. She finds a good solid stick on the ground and some rope that was hanging around an knob on the shed in the backyard. She goes back into the house with the objects she found in the backyard.

"Johnathan I grabbed some things from the backyard that could help us make an makeshift cast for your leg." Alice says sitting the things on the dinning room table. They made a splint for his leg and Alice even added some decorations to it.

"Are you ready?" Alice says

"I'm ready just do it fast." Johnathan says holding on to the end of the table.

Alice grabs his left leg and puts his knee back into place while straightening out his leg. Johnathan screams as she does this. The scream echos through out the house hurting Alice's ears as she puts on the makeshift cast.

"Okay all done sorry for that". Alice says looking in his eyes.

"It's okay... Come sit next to me". Johnathan says as he taps the cushion on the sit next to him.

Alice sits next to him wondering how he feels about his mother being alive. "I know you are hurting you can talk to me about your.." Alice says

Johnathan cuts her off in her sentence " can we just act like she's not... Alive for now. Johnathan says

Then someone starts knocking on the front door. "I'll get the door Johnathan. Sit back down before you hurt yourself." Alice says as she see Johnathan trying to stand up.

She walks to the door and opens it. "Hi Alice, can we come in." Johnathan's dad says who is standing next to Johnathan's mother.

Alice lets them in and walks them to the dinning room, where Johnathan is sitting waiting on Alice to tell him who's at the door.

"It's your parents". Alice says
"Why?" Johnathan ask looking at his parents.

"Okay son, let us explain" Johnathan's dad says

"I don't want to hear it". Johnathan says as he limps away, up to the bedroom upstairs. Alice follows him hoping she could calm him so he could have a serious conversation with his parents.
