It's now midnight and Johnathan is unable to sleep. He watches Alice sleep, paying very close attention to her, fearing that if he closes his eyes for even one second she too will disappear.

He can see as she dreams that her mind is on Chris. He feels her brain wonder about as she sleeps. He wishes for a moment he can see her dream, wishes for a moment they can be together.

He wishes for one moment he can take Alice away from all of this to a place where nothing matters but their happiness. A place filled with good people, a place where they can get married and have a family.

A place where life is valued, unlike here, where the world is nothing less than peaceful. He can imagine all this. How nice it would be to just be normal again. How happy Alice would be, to him her happiness means more to him than his own.

He wraps his arms around her, tightly hugging her as she sleeps. Deep down inside, he hugs her to say goodbye, just in case he's next to disappear.

He wants to make sure she knows he loves her. If it is his fate to disappear next, he just wants her to have peace. He hugs her to say goodbye without physically having to say goodbye.

He knows that if he utter the word, even in a whisper, then he would be excepting this fate. A fate he would never except.

Alice feels Johnathan hugs her as she sleep, now awake she lays there letting Johnathan hug her longer. She can feel his pain radiate from his body. She feels the warmth of his skin touching her.

She wishes they can stay like this forever hugging one another. She wishes that he would stay forever by her side. Turning to face Johnathan, she looks into his eyes searching for that shy, little boy she met on her porch that first day of primary school. Searching for her soul mate.

"Johnathan, I love you". Alice whispers trying to not wake up the students who's sleeping.

Those few words, Alice said had a huge effect on Johnathan. He felt a weight lift off his shoulders, he knew she loved him but those words just honored his believe.

"I love you too". Johnathan whispered back

"I'm sorry Alice about everything. I should of kept up with Chris during the attack. It's my fault he's gone." Johnathan says as he looks into her eyes.

"It's not your fault, and I don't ever want to hear you say those words again. Do you understand me Johnathan Marshall, never again do you say that." Alice says

Sam... Hears them talking and crawls over to them. "Guys I hear you talking, sorry to interrupt but, I just thought about something. How did the people go missing exaxtly? No one left the underground shelters since we've been here. No one even opened the door." sam whispered to them.

"You're right how did they go missing if everyone stayed here this whole time. It's not even possible." Alice says

"There must be another way, do you guys think the menwards is behind this, I knew it from the beginning they are behind this." Johnathan says as he sits up in the bed.

"We can wrap this conversation up for now, but in the morning we need to have a serious conversation". Sam says as he yarns and crawl back to his bed.

Now 2 A.m. Alice and Johnathan drained, both fell asleep by eachothers side.

"Everyone please stay still while my parents and I take a head count" Sam says as everyone wakes up

Sam and his parents rushes around and count everyone's head.

"Johnathan, another twelve students disappeared". Sam says as he approaches Johnathan and Alice.

"How I was up, well majority of the night anyhow. They had to disappeared after two A.M. why are pairs of twelve, going missing at a time"? Johnathan says

"We must leave... Before none of us is left. Today we must leave the shelters it's been too long. I'm so sick of seeing this pale gray walls with all these bunk beds taking up the rooms." Alice says

"We must leave Johnathan." Alice says as she takes Johnathan's hand.

Johnathan can see in her eyes how serious she is about leaving. He knows he can't talk her out of it. But insists anyways they should wait at least another day.

"We can come up with a plan today and once we know every step of the plan then we can leave, maybe tomorrow." Johnathan says as he folds his arms.

"No, we leave today, if we wait until tomorrow another twelve students will been gone." Alice says angrily.

"She's right we can't lose another twelve, especially if we plan on rebelling against the memwards". Sam says assuring Johnathan that Alice is right.

"But you are right about making a plan before we leave... We can plan then leave at midnight tonight. By then the memwards should be asleep." Sam says looking at Johnathan.

Will they make it out of the shelters to rebel against the memwards?

Will Johnathan and Alice find Chris?

Will they find out where the missing students are?
