Devils Heart

All I ever wanted was someone to love, someone who loved me. But no.... all of them had to break my heart.

----------------------------

"Lilith! Your bus is here!" My mother said. "Going" I grabbed my bag and hopped on my bus, popping on my earphones and putting my music full blast.

The bus ride was calmer than usual and no-one attempted to bother me like they usually would. After about ten minutes in the bus i became drowsy; with a yawn my vision went black and I fell into slumber.

---------------------------

"Lily....." my sister Lucy shook me; apparently I not just dreamt of being on my way to this horrid place. Just as we got off the bus, a group of people I detested a bit too much walked up to us.

"Ugh look who is coming." My sister motioned towards my ex, giving him a fake smile. "Hey Lily! You look really nice today. Still a little virgin?" he said putting his arms around the two girls next to him. "Aww, what's wrong? Cats' got your tongue?" Said the girl in the too short mini skirt and the see-through shirt. "No sweetie, it's just that I don't speak idiot." I replied.

"Ugh! Whatever. Come on Hunty, leave the freak alone." said the other girl.

"Aww... leaving so soon? Have somewhere to be or scared my sister will actually retaliate to your words?" My sister said, not caring about what the dumb jock would say.

"Listen to me. I am adored by the people in this school and the area surrounding it. I am stronger than both of you combined and since principal Murrey loves me so much I am not scared of the consequences that will come if I bash your face in. Got it?" he said, grabbing the collar on Lucy's shirt. Two can play that game I thought as I swung my fist at him.

"Look out" squealed whore one at Hunter as my fist connected with his face. "Run away little mouse, before this cat breaks all your teeth" I said through gritted teeth. I was about to swing again when he grabbed my arm.

"Don't hurt yourself Lily" he twisted my arm, receiving a small yelp from me. He chuckled at the pain he had inflicted.
"Que come mierda." Lucy held his head in place as I headbutted him and broke his nose. I stood back to admire my work, he laid on the floor with a broken nose and bloody lip and his two prices had apparently ran away while I wasn't looking. After realising what I had done, and adding that to the fact that he was right about how loved he was and how hated I was by the town, I grabbed my sister by the arm and ran. We were now accomplices in what my mother would call a high crime I should be hung for.

Finally making it to our house, I sat on the couch and relaxed. My sister sat on a small seat across from me and looked at me with a worried expression. "Mom will be horrified at what we did. You realised this right??" she asked with a bit of fear in her voice.

"I'll take the blame for it then. It would've all been me, he is my ex after all and I was the one who started the fight and caused the damage."

"Then mom will kill you. You won't be allowed to see the light of day ever again!"

"I know, but it is better than having to see you facing the consequences along with me." I said while looking down at the floor. For me, facing my mother was far worse than having to stay at school and deal with the principal while he gives me a whole speech of what I did and then tell me that I am expelled or something along those lines. My mother didn't exactly like me, and she wasn't my real mom, she had just found me in her doorstep and took me in for whatever reason she had at the time. I don't remember my parents very well, or what my life was like before Calypso had taken me under her wing; after all I was only a small two year old.

I do, however, remember of a time when she was nicer to me, before my 8th birthday. She used to be extremely kind to me, didn't mind if I was a bit rowdy sometimes, and definitely didn't beat me if I did something wrong.

The pleasant memories were interrupted by the sound of wheels screeching to a stop on our driveway. My head quickly snapped towards the door as footsteps approached it, and suddenly it swung open. "Hey girls! How was school?" she asked with a fake smile pasted on her face. My sister stood up "Well, I wasn't feeling well so I came home." Lucy lied.

"What about you Lily? Why are you here so early?" Calypso asked while sending a glare my way. She obviously did not believe the lie my sister had just told her but chose to ignore it and focus on me instead.

Before I could say anything Lucy interfered. "I brought her home with me" she smiled innocently "Just in case anything happened she could call you or an ambulance" she lied again.

Calypso's face softened. "Alright mama, go to your room and rest okay? I want you to feel better and be ready to return to school tomorrow" She said and motioned her to go to her room. When my little sister was out of sight she turned to me and with a swift movement of her hand she slapped me. "You ungrateful child! I could've left you outside! I could've let you die! But I took you in and raised you as if you were my own! And how do you repay me? By beating up some kid in school and getting expelled!?" she screamed as she grabbed a flower vase and smashed it on my back. "You should go back to where you came from!" she screamed once again and kept beating me. I kept my head away from her, not wanting for her to see me crying.

After a good five minutes of her beating me, she stopped and a scream was heard. Lucy pushed her aside and rushed to my side. She gasped softly and put her hand on my back, which caused a stinging feeling to occur from all the cuts.

((Lucy's POV))

I rushed out of my room after hearing my mom screaming and hurried to the living room. When I got there I noticed Lily on the floor, tears running down her face and her white school shirt stained with blood and my mom standing over her. On the floor next to them was a shattered vase my dad had given my mom before leaving us, also covered in blood.

I shoved my mom aside and dropped down next to Lily, trying to avoid the glass shards that were scattered around. My attempts were in vain though, since I still managed to get the sharp pieces stuck in my knees and legs.

I brought Lily's head up on my lap and she coughed softly. Tears streamed down my own face as I looked up at my mom. Lily might not have been my real sister but I had known her my entire life. She had always been there for me, which I guess is one the reasons we were so close.

As rage filled inside me, mother grabbed my arm and tried dragging me away from the limp body of my sister. Rage filled inside me, was she really going to leave Lily on the floor like that?!

A bright light filled the room and blinded my mom. I took the chance to move away from her, go back to my sister's side and try to stop the bleeding from her abdomen and back. As I found my way back to her I noticed the light was coming from me, and that it was dying down. My mom was laying on the floor; probably passed out and I found myself struggling to stay up as well. I fell on the floor next to Lily and attempted to stop the bleeding. I am not sure if it was because of my already dizzy state or that I was not a big fan of blood but I fainted and the last thing I remember was three figures coming into our living room, walking towards Lily and I and dragged  us out of the living room.
