Chapter 12

Another beautiful day, in fact, it was afternoon. The sun wasn't as hot as in the noon.

Toriel planned to have a picnic on the surface with the others.

You were alright with the decision. Monsters and humans started to get along since the barrier broke. Some of the monsters even started to buy their products to humans.

"Are we all here?" Toriel asked, looking at each of you and your friends. You checked to see if everybody was here.

Undyne, Papyrus, Toriel, Frisk, Alphys, aaand... "Where's Sans?" You asked proffesly.

The others smirked at you while Toriel shrugged her shoulders. She then notices the smirks on the others' faces making her drag into the trend.

You gave them a glare. "Are you serious?" You mumbled your questioning. You were glad that Sans wasn't here to hear you ask about where he is.

"Hi, Y/N." You flinched at the sudden call. You looked at your side to see Sans, his usual bony hands in his jacket's pockets.

"SANS, WHY ARE YOU LATE?" Papyrus asked.

Sans shrugged innocently making Papyrus groan childishly.

You chuckled. "Now we're all here." You reminded Toriel. Toriel looked at you. "O-Oh yeah. Now that we're all here.." Toriel trailed off.

"Let's just go." Toriel said.

You and the others walked up the stairs towards the surface. The stairway wasn't that long so it wasn't a struggle to keep up with the others.

The others are infront of you in the walk while you are at the back, until Sans went along your side.

"Hi, Y/N." He greeted with his usual grin.

"Hi." You smiled at him. His presence makes you feel relevant and warm.

"So.." Sans paused. "Anything happened to you today?"

You shook your head. "Everything's good. You?" You turned your head to look at him but he stayed silent. "Sans?" You were starting to become worried.

He blinks fastly a few times before glancing at you. "Oh, uhh, sorry. Did I do something?" He asked you.

You sighed in relief but you still had a perplexed smile on your face. "So, how's your day?" You repeated.

"...cool." He replied, but you didn't really believed that he had a cool day.

"Cool." You interjected quietly.

You already reached the surface, where the sun is setting, the breeze is gently whizzing, and the atmosphere is peaceful.

"Here's a good spot." Toriel smiled as she set the striped blanket on the green grass. She prepared the picnic basket on the middle of the spot and sat on the corner part.

You sat opposite of Frisk, who is currently struggling in eating a sandwhich since she put a lot of strawberry jam in it. You chuckled at her silly actions, while she glared at you.

You noticed the silence, thinking it was because everybody was eating food while watching the sun set but no. That was indeed a theory. Your friends are fake coughing while hiding quiet giggles.

You looked beside you (right side) to see Sans blushing a dark shade of you while looking down, playing with his pockets.

You raised an eyebrow at them while they laughed.

"You don't know what's happening, do you?" Unydyne, who is at your left side, questioned with a 'seriously' tone and expression.

You shook your head innocently, as she facepalmed.

She leaned closer to you to whisper, "He was staring at you while you were laughing at Frisk."

You slightly blushed but maintained the same innocent expression about the awkward situation.

"Soo..?" You asked, trying to get to the point.

"He likes you, Y/N!" Undyne whisper-yelled. This made you blush even more.

"And how are you so sure?" You asked, raising an eyebrow towards the fangirling blue fish lady.

"I am in a relationship, therefore, I know." Undyne said proudly with a big grin. "Stuttering, blushing, nervousment, consciousness, sudden change of personality from normal into loyal and sweet, always at or by your side, and is awkward around situations like this."

You gave in, accepting Undyne's "expertie" towards the awkwardness between you two.

"So? What about him liking me?" You tried to keep a straight face but your cheeks are heating up even more about the topic.

"You're so bitter, gurl. Just accept the fact that you like him liking you because you like the feeling of liking him and him liking you mutually." Undyne said fastly.

You just looked at her.

"Let's just eat." Undyne said, immediately switching off her fangirling-self.

You ate -insert food- while watching the real stars drift to the sky. The twinkling sensation of the diamond-like materials made the bond between you and your best friends everlasting.

As the stars drift to view, your eyes are starting to drift off to sleep.

You gave your last glance of the day towards Sans, you smiled at him. He smiled back at you.

You moved closer to him and leaned on his shoulder. You looked at him, his blue blush coming back on. You chuckled then closed your eyes, a blush also strained on your face.
