Analeigh's eyes drifted open slowly, the sunshine seeping through the blinds warm on her cheeks.

She sighed quietly, grateful to have woken up to a quiet hotel room, since it was usually full of discussion and yelling- something she had grown used to.

Unfortunately, she had spoken too soon, and her quiet morning was interrupted by the all too familiar sound of May yelling.

"No, listen! You have to scan it this way, not that way!"

It was usually over something stupid, and to be honest they all seemed to be going crazy. They hadn't found any type of lead from the information they collected at the (former) base of the Enemy, and the photographs Analeigh had found seemed to be nothing but faces, only one- the one belonging to Joshua Hong- ringing a bell.

Sighing once more, this time more dramatically, she swung her legs over the side of the bed and got up, quickly dressing herself.

Her dark, shoulder length hair was pushed away from her face by a grey headband as she made her way into the small computer area Mingyu had set up.

A familiar scene lay before her; Mingyu at the computer, scrolling through pages of coding, May peering over his shoulder, insisting he was doing it wrong, and a coffee-fueled Seungcheol somewhere around the edge. Sometimes- if you were lucky- you'd spot Seokmin or Hoshi.

"See, look at this!" May yelled. "Did you even read through that yet?"

God, how does he even put up with that?
(When he is asked that, he always makes excuses that he's just stressed, but is she?)

"Good morning." She said, and they all responded in their normal, tired unison.

The brunette plopped down next to Seungcheol, who handed her a mug of sightly-scolding coffee, much like the one in his own hands. She mumbled a thank you and turned to watch Mingyu and May.

Things had been slightly tense between the two since Analeigh was rescued. Mostly because of the kiss.
It really was unexpected and uncalled for, and she wasn't sure if that's what bothered her.

The thought never really crossed her mind, but what if she loved him?

-

Analeigh emerged from her room once more later that evening.

Walking to the small hotel lobby kitchen, she got a glass of water.
She turned around to go back, but was stopped.

"Analeigh," It was Seungcheol. "We- we need to talk."

She stared back into the familiar big brown eyes and nodded.

What was there to talk about? Did he find a lead?

He led her out onto one of the balconies and sat down on a cast iron patio chair. She did the same, facing him.

"Did you find a lead? Shouldn't you be telling everyo-"

"Analeigh." He cut her off, and she went silent.
"I kissed you."

"Y- you did." She wasn't clueless about this, of course.

"I was happy to have you back."

She paused. Had she actually considered him liking her that way..?

"But that doesn't mean I didn't mean it."

The sun was beginning to set, casting orange and yellow rays onto the small balcony.

Then, he leaned closer, closing the gap between them.

"I love you, Analeigh."

Super short chapter!! I really needed to get something out after not updating in so long.. Sorry about that!!

Expect weekly updates to get back on schedule.

Also, sorry if some things didn't quite line up in this chapter. I've been away from it for so long!! :(
Tbh this chapter was a low key filler loL)

You can probably expect this book to be about 20 chapters. Hopefully no more, no less.

Thank you so much for reading!!
