You see Klaus everywhere since he died.

Everyone looked at you as you sat in the kitchen, your hands clasped together as your forehead leaned on them.

Elijah, Rebekah and Kol, their hearts broke looking at you. They were grieving for Klaus, and for you. Because you were practically dead as well. A fragment of what you used to be.
Centuries you had spent with Klaus. Loving him with every fibre of your being. You needed him. You were always there for him. To wipe his tears, to help him with his paranoia. To just be there.

And his presence, since he had died, it lingered. There was just too much that time couldn't erase. You felt him, you saw him everywhere. He had all of you, even after death.

You jumped as you saw him sitting across from you on the table.

"Leave me alone", you begged him, tears falling down your cheeks. You saw him everywhere, and it was driving you insane.

" You're the one keeping me here Y/N", he told you softly. You rubbed your temple in stress as tears made your vision blurry.

"I can't live like this. Stop following me Klaus", you begged, your voice shaking.

" Who...who are you talking to?", Elijah said hesitantly. He sat beside Klaus and looked at you worriedly.

"He's... He's beside you", you whispered, clutching your hair in your hands.

" Who is sweetheart? ", he said kindly, and Rebekah exchanged worried glances with him.

" Klaus ", you said, your voice cracking.

" Y/N. Niklaus is dead", he said, grabbing your hand. Klaus walked over to and knelt beside you.

"I'm here. Ignore Elijah", he said softly, and you broke down crying.

" I...I see him everywhere!", you whispered, wiping the tears from your eyes.

"Y/N, he's gone", Kol said firmly, as he knelt on your other side and wiped your tears. He was your best friend, and even he couldn't help you.

" I'm not gone", Klaus muttered into your ear. You winced, hugging your knees to your chest as you rocked yourself and blocked your ears with your palms.

Kol, Elijah and Rebekah ached as they looked at you.

"Go", Kol mouthed. They hesitated before flashing away. Kol put his hands on your face and wiped your tears again.

" Where is he?", he asked softly.

"He's across from you", you said breathlessly, panic overwhelming you and tightening your chest. Kol grabbed your hand and squeezed it.

" Darling, I can assure you he is not. You are exhausted. You haven't slept in weeks Y/N. You need to rest, and sleep. Then you will see that he isn't here. And you can move on", he said, his tone urging.

"Move on? I can't even breathe properly anymore. What's the point? My sanity was all I had left Kol. What's stopping me from taking off my daylight ring and ending all of this pain, this excruciating agony that is seeping into every vein in my body?", you asked tiredly.

" You are far, far from insane my darling. And as for taking off your ring, you have no idea what that would do to me. To Elijah and Rebekah. You are our family. You have family. You can, and you will get through this", he said.

Your eyes closed as he kissed your forehead. You really wanted to believe him. But you just weren't so sure you could get through it. You really, really weren't.
