Imagine #101 Klaus+The Mikaelson's

You have to say goodbye.

You gazed at the wooden stake that was sticking in your chest as the room went silent.

Elijah flashed over to the vampire that staked you, and ripped his heart out vehemently.
Kol stared at you, his face pale and his eyes watering.

Hayley covered her mouth with trembling hands as she looked at you with utter distress.

Your beautiful eight year old daughter shook her head as she looked at you, her maturity astounding you.

And Klaus, he flashed over to you, his face stunned, as if he didn't quite know how to even react to the situation at hand.

You took the stake out, and as your legs buckled, Klaus held you by the waist, supporting you as he led you to the couch.

"I only have minutes. The stake, it, um, pierced my heart. I can feel the splinters of it. I, I'm dying. You need to g-get in my head to say g-g-goodbye", you said, your eyes watering as you spoke in a panicked, stricken, breathless tone as your head dropped and you fell into an unconscious slumber.

You looked at your surroundings, and smiled. You gazed at the empty bar, with your favourite drink on it.

" Hmm. How did I know that you would pick this to be our place to say goodbye? ", you grinned, as you sat beside Kol.

" I'm a creature of habit ", he smiled, before looking away as his eyes filled up with tears.         " How did something so unfair happen to you? You are the one that's always good, you are not meant to die at the hands of some unhinged vampire. This can't... I-", he broke off, his head in his hands. 

You put your arms around his as you sighed.

"I don't have much time. I can feel it. But listen to me. I love you. You're my best friend. And you will be okay", you whispered, kissing his cheek.

" I love you too Y/N", he choked out.

You smiled as you looked at the woods you were in, wearing a dress you hadn't in almost a millennium.

"You saw in me what I never could. This strong person with potential. And because of you, I believe in my abilities. In myself. Thank you", you whispered.

" Thank you. You have been such an asset to this family. You are family Y/N. And our always and forever will be dented without you", Elijah said brokenly.

"This sucks, huh?", you asked Hayley, smiling sadly. Hayley sat beside you, squeezing your hand as a tear fell down her cheek.

" Beyond sucks. God, I'm not ready to say goodbye to you ", she whispered.

" Me neither. You are not just like a sister to me. You are my sister", you said as you hugged her. "Look after my little girl", you begged.

" I promise", she replied shakily.

"I'm scared", you admitted, your voice breaking as two tears fell down your cheeks.

" I know. I'm so sorry this happened to you. But I love you. You will remain so loved. I will tell Y/D/N how amazing her mom is", she promised. You smiled tearily.

"I know you will".

"Hi, my love", you said gently, as you sat in Y/D/N's room, your chest tightening, the stake slowly edging closer to your heart.

You sat cross legged from each other.

" You're dying mommy, aren't you? Daddy said to close my eyes, and hold your hand, and I could see you. So I know you're dying. I don't want you to die ", she said, as she began to cry softly. Your hand fell to her cheek as her tears landed on your thumb.

" Yes baby. I'm dying. So you'll have to look after Dad okay? You amaze me everyday. You are so beautiful and strong. And I will be carried with you, forever in your heart. Thank you for being the most amazing daughter. Truth be told, I don't quite know how to say how much I love you. Words seem futile in the face of this situation. But know this:You are my life. And God, you've made it an amazing one", you whispered softly as she sobbed. "Sweetheart?"

"Y-yeah m-m-mommy?", she asked tearfully.

" Can you...Can you say it for me one last time?", you asked hopefully. She wiped her tears as she smiled.

"Yes mommy", she said, as she lay beside you. And she said what she had been saying every night for the last seven years. What she shouted sleepily through the house every night, causing everyone living there to smile widely.

" Nite all, love all, see you all in the morning", she whispered. You smiled tearily.

"It's time baby", you whispered, as you kissed her hair.

" Bye mommy", she sobbed.

"Bye my beautiful love".

" I think that we are forever cursed to be unhappy", Klaus said, his head in his hands as he sat on a bench beside you.

"No. I disagree. Look what we have. A beautiful daughter. An amazing family. We have been so blessed. We have everything. This is a minor setback. It's not ideal, but you will be fine. The Mikaelson's will be stronger for it. You will be stronger for it".

" No, I won't! Y/N, all that I have, all that I am, all that I ever was, is you! I need you, you can't leave me!", he shouted as he looked at you, tears falling down his cheeks.

"Niklaus, you can get through this. I can feel the stake consuming me. I don't have much time. So listen. You were never the mighty, deadly, brutal Klaus Mikaelson. Not to me. You are the kind, amazing, loyal, loving, beautiful Niklaus. And you forever will be", you said, your hands on his neck as your lips pressed softly against his. You tasted the salt of his tears against your lips.

" I have always loved you", he told you, his eyes heartbroken.

"And I you", you said breathlessly, before you fell against him, your body becoming still. He stood rigidly as he held you, tears dripping from his eyes as he stroked your hair  soothingly.

" I know you have", he whispered in the silent air.
