Christmas Preview Imagine- Klaus

You can't cope with him breaking up with you.

You walked through the busy streets numbly. The streets filled with happy festive smiling children. In fact, everyone seemed to be happy. And you just couldn't see anything but him. Around every corner of every street. It was endless.

It was Christmas eve. You didn't deserve this. You didn't deserve this cold icy hopelessness that was swallowing you whole. You didn't deserve any of it.

And you were going to him. You were going to his house, to see Hope and Hayley. And you could hardly breathe at the thought of seeing him. It had been three months. The holidays were not a good time to be alone, because in those last three months, you had turned into a shell of your former self.

Suddenly, you were there. You knocked hesitantly on the door and Klaus was of course the one to answer it. You attempted to smile, and his eyes scanned you up and down, a shocked expression on his face.

"Hi", you said. You wanted to curl into a ball and die at that moment, honestly. "Hayley asked me to come over", you said.

He continued to look at you blankly. He could hardly believe it was even you. Your cheeks were sunken in, your eyes black with rings, with a totally blank look in them. You were after getting so scarily skinny. And your voice was so unbelievably exhausted that hearing it made him want to burst into tears. This was wrong. All wrong. He blinked.

"Yeah, of course. It's good to see you Y/N", he said, letting you in.

"You too", you said wearily. Your tired eyes brightened as you saw Hope, who toddled over to you. You grabbed her gently, lifting her into your arms and planting a kiss onto her cheek. "Hey sweetheart. Long time no see", you whispered into her hair.

"Y/N, you came! ", Hayley grinned. Her smile again faltered as she saw your stricken state. She glanced at Klaus, whose eyes were closed as he leaned against the wall.

"Yeah. Thanks for inviting me", you said softly, as you let Hope down.

"Hey its Christmas. You're family", she said gently. You used to be. Not so much anymore. But you smiled anyway. "You wanna help me make dinner?", Hayley asked softly.

"Of course", you said. At the monotone sound of your reply, Klaus's eyes sprung open.

"No. Come with me", he said, holding his hand out. You looked at him, your face going paler than even he thought possible. "Please", he said, his voice in agony. You looked at him wearily, taking his hand as he walked up to his room with you. You stood, so small in the room.

"This is all wrong Y/N!", he said furiously!

"What is?', you asked blankly.

"This! You are feisty and fun and you always have a spark! I broke up with you so you would have a better life, so you would be happier!", he said angrily.

"I...I'm trying", you whispered, hugging yourself tighter as two tears fell evenly down your cheeks. He looked at you with total anguish. "You were my happiness", you said, sniffing as you looked at the floor.

"No Y/N. I am no good. For you. Or for anyone. You deserve so much. You deserve to get everything you want in life", he said gently.

"I want you. And Hope", you said tearfully as your eyes met his. You were shocked to see a tear slide down his cheek. "I...I need you and Hope", you said shakily.

"Y/N", he whispered shakily. He walked towards you, his hands gripping your waist. His forehead met yours and you stayed in silence for several minutes.

"Please", you whispered. Another tear fell from his cheek to yours. And then he nodded, his hand stroking your cheek as his lips met yours.

"I promise I'll make you happy", he whispered.

"I know you will", you said against his lips.

What had originally been the worst Christmas of your existence had become the best in a matter of minutes. And that was pretty amazing.
