Sleepover

Aphmau's pov

'I can't believe me and Garroth almost kissed.' I think to myself as I get ready for the sleepover. 'I can't let these old feelings return. There's no way he still likes me after what happened.' I stop rearranging the blankets the others brought from their rooms. 'But even so, it hurts.' "Aphmau? Are you okay?" Lizzie asks. Stacey comes up next to her. "Yeah, you've been out of it since you came back." I just force a smile. "I'm fine." Shelby shakes her head.

"Aphmau, sweetie, whenever a girl says she's 'fine' she's really not." She points a pillow at me. "Something happened with that Garroth guy. Whether in the past or before Sky went to get you, I don't know. But you need to know that you have friends you can talk to." Shelby, Stacey and Lizzie all stop what they're doing and hug me. "Don't keep it bottled up. Okay?" We stand there for a moment until, "Are we interupting something?"

The boys come in with junk food and drinks, including beer. "It's not a party without beer." Gizzy says. "I don't drink." I say bluntly. "Y'all can get wasted by yourselves. Besides it's a sleepover not a party." I narrow my eyes as the boys look away. "Let me guess," Stacey starts off glaring daggers. "you all thought you would get some if we got drunk." Stacey and Lizzie start going towards the boys until, "It was my idea." Garroth comes in and leans on the doorway. "I bought the beer with no intention of giving it to anyone though. So you can rest easy."

I clap my hands so fighting doesn't break out. "Anyway, the night's still young so, let's get this sleepover started!" All of a sudden, I start losing consciousness. 'Not now.' I think right before everything fades to black.

Garroth's pov

Aphmau passed out right after she started the sleepover. The others freaked and didn't know what to do. "It's alright." I say, picking Aphmau up. I look towards Shelby and ask, "Where's her bed?" She points to the bed behind the door and I set Aphmau down gently. "This happens from time to time. She'll be awake in a few hours." I sit down next to the window. "How do you know?" Sky asks me challengingly. "Protective over a friend?" He glares. "Just answer the question."

The air in the room got tense and the others backed away a little. "I don't feel like recounting the past. Aphmau may be comfortable telling you her past but I just met you." Ross and Jin then went up to Sky and pulled him back. "Listen dude, it's obvious he's done this before." Jin says. "Jin's right. So lets back off and let him do his thing." Ross pulls Sky's arm one more time. He sends one last glare towards me and says, "Alright I'll back off, for now." I smirk and say, "I wonder if those friends of yours will hold you back from a real fight."

I walk over to Aphmau's bed and lay next to her. She immediately snuggles up to me and I kiss her forehead. Sky growls but I ignore him. 'Goodnight, Angel.'

Zane's pov

I park my car near the school. "This time I won't lose to you, brother."

Sorry I haven't updated in a few days! It's Spring Break and I plan on updating more often. Also, boys take a page out of Shelby's book and remember her advice. Hope you all like the book so far!
