Halsey- Nightmare
Martak:
I stood in the doorway watching her throw the ball. She had finally taught her wolves to bring it back. Now they're taking turns in bringing it back to her. Marcel had gone to her room as the newly mated wolves left. She hadn't found her mate. Wolves from across the nations came and not one was fated for my poor baby girl. The sadness in her eyes told me all I needed to know. Even the baby feels it. Usually, when I watch her play outside he kicks up a storm but he was calm right now.
"Hey," I turned to see Steele coming down the staircase. I turned my sight back to my daughter as he wrapped his arms around me resting his hand on my swollen belly. "She's down,"
"She didn't find her mate," I said.
"I wish I could say I'm glad," he said burying his face in my neck. "But seeing her like this is much worse,"
"At least you have another year to prepare for it," I said placing my hands over his.
"Alphas we have these roses for alpha Marcel," Edwin and Luis called out coming in with their hands full.
"Wow," I said looking at the massive bouquets of roses.
"Who are they from?"
"Wow, dad what did you do?" Marcel laughed.
"Funny," Steele said. "They're for you kid. They just arrived,"
"Really?" she asked taking the small envelope. She read it and then shoved the card back. "Fucking ass hole,"
She growled as ran up the stairs with her two wolves following.
"Who are they from?" Steele asked taking the card.
"What does it say?" I asked.
"You'll be with him an eternity. There is no need to rush. We both it'll know will happen. Signed Kaineth," my heart skipped a beat. There is no fucking way.
"No," I said. "He's trying to seduce her. I will not accept that. She has a mate out there somewhere,"
"Martak..."
"Do not Martak me, Steele. He has no reason to be sending these to her. He has a mate out there just like she does. He cannot be trying to come here and take what he doesn't need to. He will destroy our daughter,"
"Martak. Marcel is a smart girl. We cannot dictate her life. No one did that to us and by her reaction, I know she is not encouraging him," Steele said. "Replace the ones she got for her birthday last week with these please,"
"Yes, alpha," Edwin nodded. He glanced at me before skeptically walking away with the roses.
"Baby, I know you are just looking out for her but she needs to make her own decisions,"
"Why does it sound like you're on that fanger's side, Steele?"
"I'm not on his side, Marty. I will always be behind my daughter's decisions no matter what or who they are. Are you going to tell me that you would start a war just because this boy is flirting with our daughter? That is all this is baby. Our daughter is a beautiful young woman and everyone can see that. They see her the way everyone sees you, Martak. Or are you forgetting a certain alpha who wanted all other candidates dead just to keep you all to himself?"
"I married you didn't I?" he laughed hugging me.
"Giver her a chance to make her own mistakes and live her life,"
"He has fangs and is super cute like the vampires in that show she watches. He might have a chance,"
"The only one that has a chance is her mate. No one else. If this boy isn't her mate then she isn't going to stay for long,"
"I want some honey nut cheerios with cold sliced strawberries and cold milk," I said giving up for now.
"You heard the two big babies," Steele laughed.
"She is a lot more demanding now than the first time," Amy said. "A lot more emotional as well,"
"Shut up Ms. I miss him,"
"I did miss Dylan putting you in your place from behind those bars," she shouted stomping away. Steele hated every time she said something like that and she loves to piss Steele off. Any opportunity she gets, she takes. They're like two peas in a pod.
