You stepped into the restaurant with Barney. You saw his mother and father chatting at a table fit for 4, Barney led you to the table and he pulled the chair out for you to sit. He took the chair next to you and sighed happily. His mother and father began conversing with him immediately, leaving you feeling a bit left out but you didn't mind. You all ordered your food, Barney and his father got sandwiches. You and his mother ordered the same salad. Barney held your hand and rubbed his thumb over your knuckles comfortingly. Soon after the birthday cake arrived to the table. Everyone sung happy birthday to Barneys mother. Barneys mother was extremely happy and you could tell by her smile. Later, Barney got up to go to the bathroom and, when he came back he was on one knee asking you to marry him.
"Yes! Barney, Yes!" you said with tears streaming down your cheeks.
This was a surprise for everyone, considering Barney was so spontaneous. His parents were so happy for the two of you.
"I really love you (y/n) with your (h/c) hair, and (e/c) eyes, you're so perfect."
After dessert his mother wished you both luck & you went home. He had special plans for tonight.
