Back at the Hideout

*Gajeel POV*

I slowly opened my eyes, smiled and turned to look at my mate but saw that she wasn't there.  I quickly got up and looked around for her but she wasn't here.  I quickly got dressed muttering "Maybe she's at the guild."  I rushed out not noticing the letter on the floor.  I ran to the guild and rushed in.  "Has anyone seen Y/N?!" I shouted and got several answer's.  "Why are you asking?" Natsu asked.  "Because I can't find her anywhere.  She wasn't in bed when I woke up, she isn't in her home and she's not here" I growled.  "Well she wouldn't leave without leaving a note" Mirajane said.

"I didn't find anything, but I wasn't looking either.  Do you think she's alright?" I asked.  "I'm sure she's fine Gajeel.  Just go home and look around I'm sure she left you a note telling you where she is" Mirajane said.  I quickly rushed out the door back towards the hideout with Panterlily at my side.  When we went in we looked everywhere.  When I couldn't find anything I sat down at the table defeated.  Then Panterlily came out of the bedroom holding something white in his black paws.  He gave it to me and I opened it.

-Gajeel if your reading this than that means I've already left.  I can't tell you why I'm leaving or where I'm going as I don't know where I'll be sent.  I just wanted you to know that I don't know when I'll be back, if I'll ever be back.  Since I don't know, I want you and Panterlily to stay at my home and take care of Willow.  I'm sorry for leaving without a proper goodbye but I knew if I did I wouldn't have left even tho I had to.  I love you, I will always love you and hopefully the fates will be kind enough to let me come back to you.

I put the letter down and said "She's gone Pantherlily and she's not coming back anytime soon."  He came up to me and I hugged him as I cried.

*Reader POV*

I finally held the original contract in my hand after threating Victor with the Council, and knew at least a couple of good things came out of trading my services to the Council.  I put it in my bag, and listened to the Chairman give me orders to hunt some monsters terrozing a nearby town, as my first mission and I did so without question.  On my way there I saw a leather bound journal.  I liked the celtic designs indented into the leather so I bought it, knowing that I was going to need it to keep my sanity.  Then I headed back towards the monster infested town.

~*Time skip a few weeks later*~

I headed back towards the council headquarters bringing back the rewards I got from killing the monsters.  When I got back I went to my room pulled out the journal and began to write.  When I was done I took a piece of paper and wrote something else.  After I was done I folded it up and looked at it then placed it into the back of my journal.

~*Time skip a few days later*~

I was sent on another mission and I returned writing in my journal after my mission.  And I continued to do so after every mission, hiding my journal underneath the  floor boards and was sent out again.

~*Time skip (cuz I can) A year later back at the guild*~

*Gajeel POV*

"She's not dead!!" I shouted making everyone silent.  "But Gajeel, we haven't heard from her in a year" Natsu protested.  I grabbed his scarf pulling up close "She's not dead I refuse to believe it.  If she was dead I'd know.  I'd feel it.  I will wait for her to return, and if you ever suggest the possibility of her being dead again I'll kill you" I growled the let him go and continued eating.  When I was done I went to the request board and picked a job.  Then left Panterlily flying behind me.
