(Mark p.o.v.)
I was sitting on the bed in my room, facing away from the door. I couldn't believe they still couldn't find her. It's been a week. What if something had happened to her? And it was because of me...
Tom: Mark?
I didn't turn around. A minute later, he came over and sat down next to me.
Tom: She's going to be fine. They'll probably find her in a place they just never thought to look.
Mark: But Tom, it's my fault.
Tom: No, it isn't. She ran off, you didn't make her.
Mark: I did. I broke her heart.
He hesitated before asking me something.
Tom: I hope you don't mind me asking, but why did you break up with her?
Mark: Because...I didn't want to hurt her. Look at what I had already put her through!
Tom: But you guys stayed together, and were happy.
Mark: I was scared, okay?
Tom: Scared of what?
Mark: Scared that at one point it would be like it was with...her. But instead it would be the other way around. I didn't want to be like her and hurt Lindsey. Sure we were happy, but I was happy with her too. How long would it be until it got to that point?
Tom looked stunned.
Tom: T-That's what this was about? Mark, you're nothing like her.
Mark: And people say I'm nothing like the girl who tried to kill herself in high school. But over time...
Tom: Stop. Unlike her, you've got a good, big heart. That's where you differ.
He got up and stood in front of me.
Tom: Look, it's been a week and you've done nothing but sit here. So you and me are going out for lunch.
Mark: Why?
Tom: Because I'm not watching you waste away in here. So come on, get up. I'm not taking no for an answer.
He started walking towards the door when he saw I still wasn't standing up. Then he walked back over and pulled me up before getting me out of the room and out of the house.

Mark: Where are we going exactly?
Tom: Sandwich place. It just opened. And I have a surprise for you when we get there.
Mark: Hm.

We pulled up outside the restaurant and got a table. When we sat down, he was looking around, as if he was expecting something. Then, after 5 minutes, I saw what he was looking for. Bob and Wade walked over and sat down across from us.
Bob: Hey guys.
Wade: Hey Mark.
Mark: Hi.
Tom: Thanks for coming guys.

(Wade p.o.v.)
Tom was right, he looked terrible. I looked over to see Bob looking at him just as I was. He had bags under his red and puffy eyes and his hair was messy. But the most concerning part was when we tried to talk to him. We talked for about 10 minutes, and in those 10 minutes, every time we tried to talk to him, his answers were short and quiet. It was as if he had reverted back to the shy kid of the group. But then he spoke up about the thing we were all trying to avoid.
Mark: So, what are you guys doing here?
Wade: We live here.
Mark: I know Wade, I thought you were still in L.A.
Wade: We came back a few days ago.
Mark: What about Jack and Signe?
Wade: They still wanted to stay. I think they're with Ryan and Matt.
Mark: Did they find her?
I looked nervously at Bob before taking a deep breath and turning back to Mark.
Wade: Yes.
His face lit up a little when I said that.
Mark: Is she okay?
Wade: W-We...we don't know.
Now I couldn't tell if he was more confused, disappointed, or worried.
Wade: The police found her and said she was fine. But she requested that they don't tell us where she is. Only that she is safe and we shouldn't be worried about her. All I know is it took longer than usual for them to find her.
Mark looked like he might cry.
Bob: She...she actually wanted us to give you this.
He handed Mark a note. None of us knew what was in it, and we were afraid.
He hurriedly grabbed it and started reading it. Tears started forming in his eyes as he read. And when he finished, he dropped it, got up, and walked into the bathroom. We all were confused. Then I picked up the note and read it.

Dear Mark,
I'm sorry I ran off. But I want you to know that I love you so much, and that you are a great guy. I just don't understand how you can't see that. I think right now, I just need to disappear, for your sake. So just know that I love you and I hope you find happiness wherever you are. You deserve it.
Love, Lindsey

I put it down and walked to the bathroom. I stepped in and saw him in front of the mirror, washing his face with water.
Wade: Mark.
He stopped and looked at me in the mirror.
Wade: I'm sorry.
Mark: Me too.
Wade: But she's right-
Mark: No, she isn't. She doesn't need to disappear, this is my fault! Not her's!
Wade: I'm not talking about that. She said you were a great guy, and she's right. And you need to see that. And I know there...there has to be a reason this is happening. And I want to help you figure it all out. Okay?
He looked at me for a long time before eventually nodding slightly.
Mark: Okay.
I smiled and came up to him, giving him a hug, which he returned.
Wade: Let's go.
Then we walked out and rejoined the others.

A/N: Hope you liked this. It might be a little longer until next chapter. Nothing crazy, just maybe a couple extra days. I'm going to try to come up with some story ahead of time instead of just sort of developing it all as I go along, like I usually do. Just to let you know. But anyways... Also, I think some people might find the video above very helpful and educational. ;) So, yeah. Hide your internet sins children. Until next time...
