(Mark p.o.v.)
I roll over in bed, waking up slightly, but enough to realize I was alone. What?
I got up and walked downstairs, I didn't see her. She wasn't in the kitchen, or the dining room, so she couldn't have been hungry or thirsty. I checked the living room, but yet, she still wasn't there. Where could she have gone?
I went back upstairs and went into the only other room I could think of: the recording room. I opened the door to the room, and sure enough, there was a lamp at the desk on and there she was. It seemed she had fallen asleep at the computer, which was still on. I stepped inside and closed the door before walking over and kneeling beside her. I looked at her face and felt something snap a little. She had been crying. I then looked up at the screen and I saw it. All of it."Slut"
"Whore"
"Gold digger"
"Only dating Mark for fame and money"
"Doesn't care about him"
"Doesn't love him"
"Basically a hooker"
"Fake"
"Ugly"
"Fat"
"Stopping septiplier"They just kept going on and on. I felt rage boil inside me as I read each of them. I knew what I was going to do. First, I carefully lifted her up out of the chair, and into the bedroom, tucking her in and making sure she was asleep. Then I went back to the recording room. I turned on the lights and got the camera rolling, and then I spoke.
Mark: Hey, guys. So, earlier today, I posted a video with my girlfriend, Lindsey. Now, what I'm about to say doesn't apply to all of you. A lot of you were very sweet and supportive, and I appreciate that, I really do. And I wouldn't be calling attention to this if it wasn't hurting somebody that I love. So, for those of you who called her awful words, like slut, or whore, or gold digger, she is none of those things. She is sweet and kind, and she's proved over and over that she wants the best for me, even if I was...a really shitty boyfriend. Because I'll admit, we've been on and off for the past couple years, and throughout those years, I've fucked up so many times. And I don't know why she let me back into her life, but she did, and I'm so grateful, and I'm not going to let a big part of my life, YouTube, hurt her. I shouldn't be finding my girlfriend with tears running down her face in the dead of night because people can't give us some space!
I sighed. I was crying a little myself, and was really worked up. I calmed down a little before continuing.
Mark: Look, I'm not doing any more videos with Lindsey right now if this is what she's going to have to go through. She doesn't deserve this, and I'm not going to allow it. So, that's really all I had to say. Like I said, this isn't all of you, but it shouldn't be any of you. You're better than that. I'm really disappointed. Goodbye. Then I turned off the camera.
I woke up feeling someone shaking my shoulder. I slowly open my eyes and look up to see Lindsey standing over me, giving me a sad look.
Lindsey: You saw it?
I nodded, still looking up at her, with my arms resting on the desk.
Mark: Why didn't you tell me?
Lindsey: Tell you what?
Mark: About all of that.
Lindsey: I knew it was going to happen, and I figured you did too. There wasn't much to tell.
Mark: I didn't think it would happen. What they were saying was...cruel.
Lindsey: I know.
Mark: If you knew it was going to happen, then why did you agree when I asked? Ugh...I'm so stupid.
Lindsey: Because I thought it would be a fun thing to do together. And it was. I really enjoyed it. And I knew there was going to be some hate, there always is, but...I didn't think it would affect me so much. I'm sorry.
Mark: Don't apologize. You shouldn't have to put up with this crap.
Lindsey: There's not much you can do about it.
Mark: Yes, there is. I...actually put out a video about it, when I found you last night.
Lindsey: You didn't have to.
Mark: I did.
Lindsey: Why?
I stood up in front of her, looking right at her as one hand went to her waist, the other to her cheek.
Mark: Because I love you. And I'm not going to watch you get hurt and do nothing.
She smiled a little.
Lindsey: I love you too.
I pulled her in for a quick kiss before pulling away.
Mark: I'm going to look at some of the comments on that video, then I'm going to record.
Lindsey: Well, I don't know about you, but I've had enough of the comments for this week. I'll be downstairs if you need anything.
Mark: Okay.
She turned and walked towards the door, opening it, before pausing in the doorway and turning back around.
Lindsey: Hey, Mark.
Mark: Hm?
Lindsey: Thanks. It means a lot.
I smiled.
Mark: Don't mention it.
Then she left.I turned back to my computer and started looking through the comments. Yes, there was still hate. But most of them were quite sympathetic towards Lindsey. I went through, getting rid of the awful ones. I wasn't having that negativity in my comments section. And I responded to some of the good ones before I started recording my next video. I sighed before telling myself what I hadn't told myself for quite some time.
Today is going to be a good day.
Then I hit record.
"Hello Everybody! My name is Markiplier and today I'm playing..."A/N: I hate the fact that this chapter isn't far off from what happens when popular (and at least somewhat attractive and male) YouTubers get girlfriends. It's so stupid! Like, their relationship is no one's business and then choosing to share parts of it is not permission to shit all over the poor girl. A lot of the things that I portrayed being said to Lindsey, I actually found being said towards JackSepticEye's girlfriend. Her name online is Wiishu and she's an incredibly talented artist (she also needs to give me fashion tips, because damn). And as soon as word got out that they were dating, I saw her being called a plethora of horrible things. Slut, whore, bitch, gold digger, etc. And none of them are okay! Why this happens, I still can not be sure of. All I know is it is one of the stupidest things I've ever seen. So please, don't hate on the girlfriend's of your favorite YouTubers. Rather, be happy for them. And if they break up, don't be an ass. Like for instance, when the news got out that Mark had gone through a break up with his (long term) girlfriend, some people were actually happy! Like, what the fuck! Feel some sympathy towards the two of them, because break ups, especially from a long term partner, suck major balls!
So yeah, I will be concluding this rant by saying this one piece of advice that will do everyone wonders in whatever they do: Don't be a dick.
Rant over. Until next time...
