In a bowl, using a handheld mixer, cream together the cream cheese and butter completely. Slowly add the confectioners' sugar in 1/2-cup batches, mixing completely before adding more. Add the vanilla extract, cardamom, and ginger, and beat on high speed for about 3-7 minutes, until the frosting is light and fluffy.
