"He's coming," Matt says, nervously. I raise my eyebrows in shock and get out of the car, jogging to the drivers seat.

"Go to the passenger seat so I can drop you off," I tell him with the door open.

"I want you to come inside too."

"I will, but you're the father and you need to be there as soon as possible." I explain as he gets out of the car. He jogs to the passenger's seat and drops his head into his hands.

I start the car and quickly drive to the hospital. "It'll be okay Matt, just think about Ashton."

"He's the reason why I'm nervous," Matt says. He looks at me as I pull up to the double doors. He kisses my cheek before running inside the hospital.

I park Matt's car on the second floor, in the garage, and walk to the elevators and into the hospital. I walk in and go to the fifth floor for laboring.

It smells like alcohol, alcohol swabs. I don't know why, but I just like the smell. It's fresh and I know that the place is sanitary, but at the same time you could easily catch illnesses here.

I walk up to the counter and greet the young man. "I'm looking for the room of Riley Thompson."

"She's actually open doors right now," The doctors says, looking at a paper work. "She's in room 527 on your right hall."

"Thank you," I smile before walking to the room. Matt did tell me he got a call saying that Ashton was already born. I don't see why Riley couldn't wait for the full nine months to go by?

I slowly make it to the room and take a deep breath. I look through the window and watch Matt, holding the baby. Ashton was quiet and calm, he wasn't crying.

I walk to the waiting room, not wanting to interrupt. This is Matt's time with his new son. It's so weird.

A few moments later, I start to hear a lot of crying. I raise my head to the noise and drop my jaw in shock as Matt walks up to me with Ashton.

"Baby," I whisper to Matt. "He looks like you."

Matt sniffles, wiping a tear that fell. "Do you wanna hold him?"

I nod my head quickly and smile, opening my arms to Ashton. "Hi,"

Ashton was now sleeping. He was quiet and he had somewhat of pale skin. Matt was pretty tan, but Riley was pale.

"Let's go home before Riley dares to change her mind," Matt mumbles through my hair, placing his hand on my lower back.

I enter the car and put Ashton in his car seat. I put on my seatbelt, sitting next to Ashton in the back, and watch him as Matt drives us home. I look up to the mirror at Matt. "How did the paper work get done so fast?"

"Riley apparently filled it all out and made sure to, as she quoted, get rid of the baby," Matt scoffs. "She really wants nothing to do with this baby. Ashton is two weeks young, he wasn't supposed to be born this early."

My straight face turns into a frown when I look down at Ashton. He won't get to know his biological mom. I'm not even his mom, I'm just his dad's girlfriend. His step mother basically? Not sure. I cough and look back at Matt. "Babe, what am to Ashton?"

Matt stays quiet as he drives into the garage. I'm not sure if I should be offended in any way. I was hoping he would've knew the answer to the question.

I look down at Ashton and smile. Matt opens his door and shuts it closed, walking into the house, leaving me and Ashton. Did I do something to tick him off?

"Well I guess I'm taking you inside," I sigh at Matt's behavior. I slightly smile at Ashton and peck his cheek. I lean back as Ashton's open. They're green and his hair is brown like the trees I see when I go home.

"You look just like your father," I sniff. I'm crying? How? "Look, now you're making me cry."

Ashton just keeps looking around as if he was lost. "Don't worry, this is your home."
