His first three observations when he woke up were: 1) he wasn't in his own bed, 2)  he was most definitely not in his own house, and 3) he wasn't alone. Some girl whose name escaped his mind laid beside him, a blanket just barely covering up her naked body. Jongin groaned and scrunched up his face when a powerful headache hit him, causing him to lay his hand on his forehead as a result.

Still feeling the excruciating pain, he tossed the blanket off of him and bent over to grab his pants off the floor. He stayed on the bed to get each article on about halfway, and then he had to stand to finish the job. After throwing on his shirt and buttoning enough buttons to appear decently modest, Jongin slid on his shoes, picked up his jacket, and left the mysterious bedroom.

He checked his pockets for his car keys and cell phone on his way down the hall, being cautious of the trash and the few passed-out bodies on the carpet with each step he took. Once he got outside and sat in his car, which luckily hadn't been moved or stolen the night before, he realized it probably wasn't the wisest idea to be driving with a massive hangover weighing down his body. But he was quick to push aside his moral conscious and excuse this thought. After all, it wasn't like he never did it before and he was still alive. With that, Jongin started up his engine and pulled out onto the open street in the musky fog of the early morning.

He arrived at his house in less than ten minutes and saw that his dad's car was parked in the driveway. "He actually came home," he mumbled to himself. He huffed out air and shook his head, proceeding to put his car in park before exiting. Jongin, despite the blank and worn-out expression on his face, was feeling slightly nervous as he walked up the stone pathway to his front door. It was rare that his dad came home at that hour since he worked the late-night shifts on Sundays, otherwise called Jongin's party nights, which was why he was never caught in the act of sneaking in at six a.m. on Monday morning. Because of this, he didn't know how he'd react, but it didn't really matter to Jongin. It's not like one scolding from his dad would make him change his ways. It was far too late for that in his opinion.

He walked into the kitchen to get some water out of the fridge to go with the aspirin he would find afterward. He had intentions of taking something for his raging headache, getting a nice, hot shower before getting dressed, and then heading off to school, but he was interrupted when he heard a bottle of pills slide across the counter. Jongin looked up, his hand still wrapped around the opened fridge door handle, to see his dad standing there, mouth glued shut and clearly unimpressed.

"Thanks," Jongin said somewhat quietly, leaning sideways to pick up the aspirin with his water in the other hand. No response of any sort came from Mr. Kim as he watched his clearly drunk son swallow down a pillow with the help of his water.

"Where were you?" he asked, trying his best to remain calm.

Jongin paused for a second as he looked him in the eyes. "At Chanyeol's house," he replied. "He invited me and a few of our friends over." He wasn't completely lying, but rather he was adding a dash or two of fiction to the truth.

"Right, which is why you come home completely drunk," he said, uncrossing his arms. "Do you really expect me to believe that, Jongin? I know you were at a party. I'm not stupid."

"Good for you then," Jongin said, sighing as he brushed off his dad's serious tone. "I'm glad you feel smart. Now, if you will excuse me, I'd like to go shower before I go to school."

Jongin tried to walk away, but his dad grabbed him by the wrist and pulled him right back. "Does it sound like I'm playing right now?" he said, the volume of his voice rising but not phasing Jongin. "You can't be going out like that and coming back utterly shitfaced, Jongin, let alone driving. You could get yourself killed."
