"The Seoul Police Department confirmed today at a press conference that suspects in the abduction cases of 18-year-old high school students Kim Jongin and Do Kyungsoo have been detained and are now in their custody."
"The suspects were arrested at a motel a few miles from the house where they were holding Jongin and Kyungsoo hostage. About halfway into their interrogation, they confessed to the kidnapping as well as the murder of their former partner. They will be appointed an attorney and a sentencing hearing will be held. We want to thank everyone who helped us catch them."
"With two charges now facing them, there is no telling how much prison time they will face."
The news was a relief to their families. No one could have been more thrilled than Jongin though. His heart held so much pent up hatred and resentment toward them that he couldn't have shown before in fear of his life. But now that those assholes were finally being punished, he could take a deep breath and hope that they rotted in their prison cells. But not only that, Jongin could also look beyond those dreadful four months and see an end.
The night the amazing news arrived to them, the families decided to meet up and share a meal in celebration. They agreed to meet at the restaurant at around six that evening. They pulled into the parking lot a little before six, a few minutes after Jongin and his father did, assuring that the car was locked before walking over to them. For Jongin, it was the first time he had ever seen his boyfriend wearing a suit and he couldn't help but think that he looked absolutely stunning. Shyly so, Kyungsoo smiled when he saw Jongin gazing lovingly at him and made his way over to him.
"Hi," he said, his cheeks lightly dusted with pink.
"Hey," Jongin said, smiling back at him. "You look great."
"Thanks," Kyungsoo replied, trying hard not to appear flustered by Jongin in front of his parents. "You look great too. You should wear suits more often."
Jongin chuckled as he said, "I'll keep that in mind." Kyungsoo laughed faintly in response and then Jongin pulled him in for a brief hug. "I missed you," he whispered sweetly into Kyungsoo's head before he retracted himself from Kyungsoo's body. Kyungsoo just smiled at him response, covertly stroking the younger's hand as he did so.
"You boys ready to go in?" Mr. Kim asked, his attention now on Kyungsoo and Jongin.
"Yeah," they said, nodding and speaking in unison. With that, they families headed inside with Kyungsoo and Jongin trailing behind them so that they could hold each other's hands, even if it was only for a moment or two.
About an hour so later, they were nearly finished with their meal, excluding Kyungsoo's mother who never seemed to be able to eat at the pace everyone else one around her did. As they ate, their parents discussed work-related things, Jongin and Kyungsoo would steal secret glances at each other and sometimes Jongin would tap his foot from underneath the table, making it hard for Kyungsoo not to react. Xiumin, unlike his parents or Mr. Kim, would notice this and furrow his eyebrows as he looked back and forth at his brother and Jongin.
"Anyway," Mr. Kim said, coming back from his brief digression off of the topic, "I have this friend who is a lawyer who would be willing to represent them in case it comes to that. I talked to him about it and he said given their confessions, he doesn't think it should, but I figured we should be prepared for whatever."
"Agreed," Kyungsoo's dad said.
"I just don't understand," his mother said, shaking her head as she laid her silverware back on the edge of her plate. "How can anyone have the heart or the mind to do something like this? What kind of insanity does it take to kidnap two innocent boys and hold them hostage for four months?"
