The detectives showed up not long after they had first entered the supply room. Kyungsoo and Jongin were more than relieved to see them as they led them out back into the main part of the store. There was an additional cop car outside just in case the men showed up. But they never did.
One of the detectives took them out to the car while the other stayed inside to collect the shop worker's statement. He said they were going to the hospital first and that he would call their parents once they got there safely. They left once the other detective joined them.
At the hospital, the nurse only had to patch Jongin up, as he only had a few scars and bruises on his body but nothing else. They allowed him to clean off all the dirt and shower for the first time in nearly four months, something that Jongin was very, very happy about. He probably spent a good hour and a half under the hot water, feeling his mind sink into ease and relief with each drop of water that fell on his body.
Up until then, he was still doubt of whether or not he and Kyungsoo had actually escaped from that hell. But something about the water acted as his revelation, his epiphany that told them it was true; they were finally safe.
Kyungsoo sat patiently in the examination room as he waited for the nurse to come in. As happy as he was to be safe, he still felt nervous. He should tell someone. He was scared, but he had to.
A soft knock took him out of his own thoughts and made him look up at the door. The nurse smiled as she slid in and closed the door behind her.
"Do Kyungsoo, right?" she asked, earning a small nod from him in response. "I'm just gonna do a brief checkup, alright? The doctor is gonna come in tomorrow and do a more thorough one."
"Okay," he said quietly as she cleaned her hands at the sink. His heart was still racing, but he knew he had to just say it. "U-Um, excuse me?" he said quickly before he talked himself out of it. She turned around and smiled at him, drying her hands with a paper towel. "The detectives...they don't know this, but I was, um..."
Tears were filling his eyes again. God, how did he say this, to a complete stranger nonetheless?
"While I was with those guys, o-one of them...h-he..."
"It's okay," she said, walking up to him and placing a hand on his knee. He looked up her and could somehow tell her by expression that she understood what he was trying to say. A few tears fell as he looked around nervously. "I don't know how long it's been, but we can give you a kit if you want to have evidence, and we can test you for anything if that's what you're scared about. But that's only if you want. We can also do nothing."
He didn't really know what to say. He didn't know what he wanted to do. No one had ever asked him.
Wiping his eyes a little, he cleared his throat before speaking. "I, uh...I don't know if I want anyone else to know right now, so...I think I'll just do the test if that's okay."
"That's fine." She nodded her head. "I'll go get it and be right back, okay?"
"Thank you," he said, smiling slightly. She just smiled back before exiting the room.
Kyungsoo let out a sigh.

After he got out of the shower and dried off, dressing in the set of clothes the hospital loaned him, Jongin asked the nurse what room Kyungsoo was in and if it was okay to see him. She gave him the green light and led him in the right direction, and within a few minutes, Jongin was approaching the opened door. He peeked his head inside and smiled to himself when he saw that he was just drying his wet hair.
"Knock, knock," he said, hitting the door a few times with the back of his hand before stepping inside. Kyungsoo smiled happily when he saw Jongin and stopped drying his hair.
