Chapter Four-Playing It Off

Star's POV
Uh oh...
How had we switched bodies? I didn't even know that kind of spell exsisted!
It felt strange being in a boy's body as well, especially Marco's...

But that was besides the point!

How long were we going to be stuck like this? What if Ludo and his monsters attacked us? Marco wouldn't be able to use magic and-and...!

Calm down, Star...Just chill out...think things through...slowly...

Okay.

"Marco" I began. "Go upstairs and look for a way to undo the magic, I'll keep Jackie occupied"
"Alright. Just don't do anything silly, okay? Just act how I would normally act. I really don't want you to mess up my chances with Jackie! " he replied, blushing.
"You stay in character too, Marco-I mean, Star. Also, why're you so red? Fever?"
"No. W-Well, I'm in a girl's body; so what do you expect me to do?"
I went red too, realising how deep a situation we were currently in.
"J-Just don't do anything weird to my body, got it Diaz?" I exploded with embarassment.
"I won't! I won't!" He replied, running upstairs, as quickly as he could.
'Geez...how on Mewni did this all happen?' I thought, as I opened the door to the kitchen; where Jackie was waiting at the dining table.

"Sup Diaz, took you a quite a while" she said, turning around to face me.
"Uhm...yeah, Star was doing something weird again..." I replied, sitting down opposite her.
It was relatively easy to stay in character as Marco, it seemed strangely natural...

"Well, anyways, you should probably eat up. The food's going to get cold" Jackie said, going back to eating.
I stared at the heap of lasange, which stared right back at me.
Marco liked this type of Earth food, so if I didn't eat it; Jackie would notice!

But...I just couldn't...

"Want me to eat that for you?" Jackie offered, pointing towards my plate with her fork.
"Really? Thanks Roomie!" I exclaimed, happily, running over to her chair to hug skater girl.
I wrapped my arms around her, tightly.

Oh wait! Wasn't I supposed to be Marco?!?

I let go of Jackie as quickly as I could and stood there smiling, sheepishly.
"Heh Heh...um, how was my Star impression?" I asked, nervously.
"Pretty good. You almost sounded like her! Maybe you should join the Drama Club?" Jackie suggested, calmly.
"Um, yeah...maybe I just might..."

Phew! Managed to survive that...

But if Jackie really loved Marco, why wasn't she flustered when I hugged her? Any normal girl would've freaked out if she suddenly got hugged by their crush...Or are all Earth girls just good at keeping poker-faces?

Marco's POV
'Not here either, huh?' I thought, as I shifted through the mess on Star's bedroom floor. 'How does Star find anything in all of this mess?'
I spotted a small pile of clothes in the corner of her room, so I walked over to them, trying not to trip over anything.
Shifting through the lot, I spotted something I probably should not have seen...

Panties. Just sitting there. Presumably Star's...

"Nope. I'm not even going to look at them! I'm not some weirdo!" I told myself, but it seemed a whole lot more unconvincing when Star's voice came out!

All of a sudden, I heard a loud ringing sound, which made me jump! It sounded like my phone, only louder...
I turned around spotted Star's mirror saying it's getting a call from 'Mom'.

Oh crap...

I stood up and smoothed down Star's dress and walked over to the mirror, pressing the green button to answer the call.
'Just act how Star would act...' I thought, as the stern face of her mother.
"H-Hi Mom, how's things?" I asked, putting on a fake smile.
"They're fine, I suppose. More importantly Star, have you found a suitor yet?"
"A suitor?"
"Yes, as in a man for you to marry into the royal Mewni family"
'Whoa...I never knew Star had such a huge responsibilty over head this entire time...' I thought, as I figured out what to say next.
"No, not yet" I replied.
"I see. Well, your father and I are working on finding suitors for you at the moment, so I will contact you again when I find a suitable one for you"
"U-Um, okay Mom, bye!"
"Goodbye Darling"
The mirror's screen went black.

Star was going to get married to some random guy she'd never seen before?
What was up with that?!?

Before I could think about the situation anymore, I heard Star calling me from downstairs.
"Marco-I mean, Star! We've got trouble!" She shouted to me.
"Monsters again?" I assumed, as I grabbed Star's wand and ran downstairs.
