Chapter Eleven-Confession And Realisation

Marco's POV
As I slowly regained consiousness, I heard Star's voice.
She sounded distressed and worried.
"MARCO! WAKE UP! PLEASE, DON'T LEAVE ME HERE ALONE! I'M BEGGING YOU!" She wailed, tears in her eyes.
I had no idea where I was or why Star was crying, but I knew one thing...

I didn't like seeing her like this.

I rolled over to see the blonde staring right back at me, her face stained with tears.
"It's alright, Star. I'm not going anywhere..." I said, weakly; stroking her face.
"Marco...I thought you were... y'know..." she said, looking at me with her big blue, glimmering eyes.
I wiped the tears away from her eyes and smiled.
"I'm fine, Star. You don't have to cry anymore. I'm here..."
The princess smiled and nodded.
"So, what happened to me after I blacked out?" I asked, sitting up.
"Oh, well; I managed to get us back home, with the Dimensional Scissors and I fixed you up with magic. See?"
The blond pointed to my right arm and I noticed that there wasn't a huge red gash there, when there should've been.
"Thanks, Star!" I smiled, happily, hugging her on instinct. "I owe you! Oh yeah, what happened to Jackie?"
"U-Uhm! I think she left this dimension already; I can't pick up her magic anymore" Princess Butterfly stammered.

But even so, I still couldn't beleive that Jackie was our enemy and she was actually from Mewni...
I mean, I should've been used to this kind of thing already, since Star was around; but I was still having trouble accepting the facts...
The girl I was crushing on was a ruthless killer...No two ways about it.
I think it was time for me to forget about my romantic feelings towards Jackie...
Once and for all.

I looked around and noticed that I was in Star's bedroom.
I smiled at the blonde, dimension-hopping princess, who was looking up at me from her bed.
I couldn't help but ask the obvious and inevitable question that I had been trying to avoid this entire time.

"U-Uhm...Star?" I asked, a little nervously.
"Hm?" She replied, watching me with her huge innocent, sapphire-coloured eyes.
"W-Why were you sleeping with me?"
Her face immeadiatly flushed and the princess looked down, obviously embarassed.
"Uhm...w-well, on Mewni..." she began, stammering.
"Yeah?"
"We do that...as an, um...act of happiness!"
"Yeah?"
"Yeah!"
I chuckled
"Star, I know you made that up. What's the real reason?"
"Uhh...Forget that! I have something really important to ask you, Marco. Can I?" Star asked shyly, which was totally out of character for her.
"Yeah, sure"
"It might be a little hard for me to say this, but..."
"Star?"

"I-I think I love you!"

W-What? Where'd that come from?!?
I just stood there totally flabbergasted, really suprised that Star cared that much for me.
Her big blue eyes were staring up at me, asking for an answer.
"B-But why me?" I asked, still in shock.
"W-Well, cause...You're able to put up with me and you're really reliable when I need to depend on you...Plus, back there; you sacrificed yourself to save my life...How could I not like you, Marco Diaz?!?"
I blushed from her compliments, but now what?
Did I like Star back?
Sure, it was easy to say that I loved her now, but what did I really feel deep down?
I didn't want to just love her, because of her amazing body...I wanted to love the real Star Butterfly!

I thought about all the time Star and I had spent together...
I had been really happy, my heart racing whenever I saw her beaming at me. Star may not have been one of the most responsible girls I'd ever met, but she was most definetly one of the funner ones!
Actually, if I think about my feelings back then, wasn't I already in love with Star?
My heart raced when I saw her, I valued her life even more than mine...

It sounded like love to me!

"Star" I began, blushing like crazy. "I think I love you too"
"Marco..." she replied, her eyes filling with tears.
"I cherish the time we spend together. I love everything abput you, you're smile, your laugh, your body. Everything. Even your imperfections!"

The blonde embraced me, tightly; crying tears of joy; whilst I hugged her back.

"I-I'm so glad...that we feel the same way..." she sobbed.
"Me too, Star. Me too" I replied, stroking her soft golden mane of blond hair.
