Chapter Nine-A Fight For Survival

Marco's POV
"W-Wait up, Jackie...Why would I be screaming in the-ohhhhh..." I said, catching on to what the blond had told me earlier.
Jackie reached into her back pocket and drew out a shiny, sharp silver knife; spinning and catching it, whilst she stared at me in the eyes.
I jumped back, watching her closely.
"You don't really intend to do anything with that...Do you?" I asked, warily.
Jackie chuckled.
"No, of course not, Diaz. I brought out this knife, so I could show it to you" she replied, sarcastically.
Damn...she was serious...
"Jackie. I really don't want to hurt you..." I mumbled, taking up a stance.
"Heh. Do you really think an Earthling like you can hurt a person from Mewni, like myself" Jackie chuckled.
"Wait, you aren't from Earth?"
"Course not. I'm a proud Mewni warrior!"
"Mewni? So, does that mean you already knew Star from before?"
"Do I know her? I was locked in a moulding prison cell for three years by her family!"
"So, you're an outlaw?"
"Enough with you trying to pry into my private life! I'll finish you here, Diaz!"

Jackie darted at me, her weapon glistening in the sunlight.
My heart was pumping and my head was a swirling whirpool of confusion.
'All you have to do is protect yourself, Marco. Don't get hit' I told myself mentally, as Jackie got in close.
She swiped at me, but I avoided her attack by the skin of my teeth.
The blond lunged at me again; almost instantly, catching me off guard.
The knife scratched my right cheek, leaving a long red cut across it!
I managed to aim a kick at Jackie, but she evaded my attack with ease.

"You suprised, Safe Kid?" She asked, a confident smile spread across her face. "This is the true power of a Mewni warrior! None of that narwhal magic crap here!"
I put my right hand up against my wound, drew it back and looked at the red stain on my fingers.
"You're good..." I muttered. "But I won't let you kill me!"
"Well, we'll see that about that!"

Jackie ran at me once again, a wild, excited smile on her face.
I had a plan.
It was a long shot, but it wasn't like I had any other smart ideas...
I waited till Jackie went to attack me and stepped back at the last possible second.

My eyes had gotten used to my foe's movements...I could do this!

"Eat this!" I shouted, throwing my left leg up high and kicking Jackie's hand, sending the knife flying out of her hand and spinning across the floor.
I managed to get a look at Jackie's suprised face as I followed my previous attack up and kicked her away.
My opponent rolled across the ground and got up almost instantly.
"Hmm...? I guess you've got some power, Marco" Jackie said, getting up. "But that wouldn't be enough to stop me!"
I narrowed my eyes and took a deep breath.
"Alright! Let's settle this! C'mon!" I shouted, running at the blond.
"I wouldn't have it any other way!" Jackie grinned, darting at me.

Star's POV
Oh no...I'd gotten lost...Of all the times...

'What did that old guy say again?' I thought, rubbing my temples. 'Go straight and take a left? Or was it a right?'
I looked around the area I was currently standing in. Which way was I supposed to go in?

I suddenly heard a loud, girly scream in the distsance.
That was without a doubt, Marco's scream!
I began running in the direction of the scream.
It sounded like Marco's was in trouble!
I had to hurry!

Marco's POV
Ugh...I was no match for her...

I lay in a heap on the floor, every muscle and bone in my body screamed in agony. Red slashes of different sizes covered my body. My favourite red hoodie was wrecked too.
I could barely breathe let alone move!
Jackie walked over to my laughing, triumphantly.
"You fought well, Diaz. Now take a nice long rest..." she said, picking me up by the throat, my feet not even touching the ground anymore.
"N-Never!" I spluttered, as I felt Jackie tighten her grip around my neck.
"Well, whatever. My plan isn't in jeopardy; you're gonna die regardless and that stupid glitter-for-brains princess is going to come and try to save you; then I'll kill her too and take the wand"

"That 'stupid glitter-for-brains princess' is already here!"

Star?

"Narwhal Blast!" The Mewni princess shouted, shooting a barrage of the cute water dwellers at Jackie, forcing her to drop me and jump back.

'Hehe...You're way too late, Star' I thought, smiling as the princess ran over to me.
