Death had loomed the earth far before the apocalypse had begun. Every day, every second. Enemies had also walked the streets, before it all came down to killing for power. There was good people too, believe it or not. Though, in this culling scarred world, no soul was good anymore.

The voices kept her awake at night, voices was what she dreaded to hear in the light. Day to day, walking down the abandoned car less roads took a toll on a human body. Not to disclose the fact of the empty stomach she carried for miles, along with a deserted tongue.

An old worn out gas station came to sight. The chances of it already swept clean was high, though, it didn't hurt to check. Her pace become faster, thought it instantly stopped once in clear view was two men trying to open a metal box. In a quick motion, she ducked behind an old sign that advertised a buy one get one free meal. Within the timeline from the beginning of the apocalypse to now, this was the third encounter she had with any other survivors.

Clicks of guns stopped her thoughts, peeping from the white sign, a guest had joined the other two. Yet, by the looks of it the two original guys seemed to not know the other guy.

The fully dressed man had introduced himself to the two, surrendering to them. The others looked at one another, trying to figure out this Jesus man. The whole interaction was taking the longest to end, with her legs already cramping, she began to shuffle her way to the side and out of their view. The first few seconds she began moving, bullets began to ring and hit objects around the gas station.

Looking out again, seeing as that the men had scurried about their ways, she made no hesitation on running towards the woods, away from the gun battle.

___

Her walk to no destination what so ever, had resurfaced old thoughts she had let go of earlier. Her olden self, naive and careless self, would have been relieved to find another set of souls whom were alive. The instinct would have been grabbing their attention, in hopes of getting rid of the looming loneliness that followed her everywhere. It took two different events to change herself from running into any living persons arms. A barrier was created, sense was brought, and the pain stayed as a reminder.

Her thoughts lost once more at the sound of a loud truck from far away, clearly coming the direction where she now walked; leaping once more into the woods and behind a tree. The truck stopped a little bit far from where her tree was, giving her a clear view of what was going on.

The two men from earlier came out, one of them carrying the Jesus guy, tying him up and said somethings which she wasn't in close range to be able to hear.

Knowing this wasn't going to end soon, she stepped away carefully backwards into the woods, as she took her second step, a twig snapped and the voices came to a halt

"Walker?"

"No damn walker, somethin' else"

"You have anyone else out here!?"

"Who's out there? Won't ya' come on out?"

Blowing out a huff of breath, she made my way out of the woods and in view for the three men that stood on the road.

"Ye' with this man?"
A curly blue eyed man asked

she glanced at the bearded man who laid on the ground "No"

"Who are you with?"
The man with shaggy hair asked squinting at me

"Non of your damn business"
she turned around and continued her way up the road

"HEY!- Could you stop, we have people-"

"No thanks"
she yelled behind her. not stopping and kept her eyes straight ahead
