Chapter 19: Double dates

"Hi Matt!" This Kristy greeted Matt. "Hey, Kristy... What brings you here?" Matt said not trying to sound rude or awkward.

"Shopping, silly. Hell-lo! It's a mall!" She said jokingly.

I looked at Matt with a confused face. Kristy was a good size lady for Matt, dirty blond hair, green- emerald eyes, and wearing a navy sweater on top of a par of white skinny jeans with gray ankle boots.

"So, I heard you were single again. Do you want to- I don't know, go on a date with me since we're here?" Kristy asked Matt.

"N- Yea, sure." Matt said inviting her and raising his arm so he could put his arm around her shoulders.

Okay, yea so Matt has a date and she's pretty but I'm pretty sure he's only doing it to get me jealous. So what! I have Lorenzo and no other guy could make me happier than him.... Except Matt.

"Why don't we all go shopping?" Lorenzo suggested. Great, now I can see Matt and Kristy flirt with each other.

"Yea!" Kristy chirped. "Fine with me." Matt replied. "Yea. Whatever." I said trying to keep my cool from letting my jealousness show.

We walked around for awhile just looking for a good shop and let me tell you this. Kristy, she can talk and talk and talk. NON-STOP! "How about that one, babe?" I asked Lorenzo trying to make Matt jealous and so Kristy could shut up. "Yea."

We all walked in Aerópostale and found some great clothes.

By the time we finished shopping it was 8:02

We hadn't had dinner so we got into the parking lot and decided what we should do next. "Why not the movies?" Matt asked.

Why? So you could make out with Kristy in the dark and not get caught? Okay, I am really jealous. Get it together Carly! Your dating Lorenzo, not Matt!

"Why don't we go to a restaurant instead? We can talk about what's happened while I've been gone." I suggested instead

Matt eyed me suspiciously and nodded his head. Lorenzo did the same and Kristy just said yes.

We arrived at some Italian sandwich shop.

We got our food and sat down at a table.

"Kristy, how do you know Matt?" I asked curiously wanting to know more about them meeting each other.

"We dated for awhile." She responds to me. That's just boring, plain boring.

I NEED MORE DETAILS!!!

"Aaaaand we met at a party. The school's homecoming. She went as my date and I went as hers. We went on a few dates but broke up a couple weeks after our last date." Matt finished.

"I hope I'm not being rude but can I ask why you guys broke up?" I asked cautiously.

"I- ummmm... Just broke up with her to be honest. I just didn't feel the zing anymore between us so I broke up with her." Matt answered and said it from his point of view.

"And Kristy, can I hear your point of view?" I asked.

"I'm not comfortable talking about it." She replied back chewing on her hair as if she just had a nightmare.

"Oh, that's fine. Sorry I asked." I apologized.

"No, no it's fine."

I'm not the nosy type of person but I need to find out why she broke up with him. No one ever breaks up with Matt Clark. He's known for his good looks and charm and well you get my point.

But no one ever breaks up with Matt Clark without a reason.
