Chapter 23: tears

Matt's POV

Okay, so I knew the reason why Carly broke up with Lorenzo when she came back.

She told me everything about him.

When she told me about a Kristy I knew instantly that she was talking about my ex Kristy.

I knew I should've told her back at the hospital but I wanted Carly to have Lorenzo back as friend. Not a boyfriend but a friend.

When Lorenzo lied to Carly, that made me sick to my stomach but I just didn't want to tell her. I knew she would find out sooner or later.

"So she knows the truth?" Logan asked me.

The boys and I had a free period so we were just sitting outside.

"Yep. I have no idea what she's going to do though" I replied back clueless.

"I'm pretty sure she'll breakup with him." Reece told me.

"Maybe."

The bell rang saying it was the end of the day.

I waited in my usual spot waiting for Carly.

No sign of her.

"Ah, the princess finally comes!" I greeted Carly trying to sound like we were dating even though we are.

No reply back. I look at her.

My smile starts to fade fast. Tears running down her face, I rushed to be by her side.

"Carly, what's wrong?" I said seriously.

No answer. "I- I-" she finally said but couldn't answer me.

"Who did this?" I asked with more concern.

"Th- the school." She said between sobs.

The rumors.

"Don't worry Carly." I told her, trying to calm her down by putting my arms around her and my chin on top of her head.

"I'll make sure whoever's doing this will pay and will stop." I told her.

Boy or girl, I'm making sure they pay for what they did to Carly.
