Chapter 9: Her Dad

—Laurance's P.O.V.————————
"Aphmau wait! Where are you going" I shouted while following her. She runs outside and goes to her car. I finally catch up to her. "Aphmau where are you going" I said while pinning her to the car so she couldn't escape. "No where just leave me be please" she said. "Not until you tell me what's wrong" I said. She looks up at me. "Do you trust me" she asked. "Of course I trust you" I said. "If you trust me you would let me go" she said. I loosen my grip. "Where are you going" I asked. "A place" she said looking down. "Well can I come" I asked. "Uh I don't know...Do you want to go" she asked. "Yeah I'd love to go" I smiled. "Ok..." She said softly. We get into the car. The whole ride was silent. She parks the car and said "We're here." We both get out.

"Wow..." I said in shock. We were at a place where no one is there to bother you. It was quite and peaceful. The sun was setting which made it even more beautiful. She sat on a bench in a gazebo. "What is this place" I asked while sitting next to her. She looks down and, a tear rolls down her face. "This is where they buried my father" she said walking over to a gravestone. "This is where I come if I'm having any kind of problem. It helps me relax when I'm stressed out. I just talk and, feel like he's right there next to me comforting me" she said looking at the gravestone. "I'm sorry" I said softly while getting up to hug her. "I just miss him so much" she said crying silently to herself. I hug her as she buries her face in my chest. "It's ok" I whispered. We stand there silently. Aphmau breaks the silence and said "I'm sorry for running out on you." "It's ok. I understand" I said. We watch the sun set. "Hey Aphmau? Can I ask you something" I said as I look down at her. "Yeah" she said. "Can I make this up to you by taking you out to dinner sometime" I asked nervously. "Like a date" she asked. I could see she was blushing. "Well only if you want it to be" I said."Sure. What time" she said. "Is tomorrow at 7pm ok" I asked. "It's ok with me. As long as you show up this time" she said. "Look I said I'm sorry" I said. She started to laugh. "Come down I'm kidding" she laughed. "Oh I-I knew that" I said. "Let's meet at my place" I said. "Ok it's a date" she said. I look at her in surprise. "W-What I meant was like what day, not like that-" I interrupted her by kissing her on the cheek. Aphmau's face turned bright red. "It's ok I knew what you meant" I said. She smiled. I smile back looking at her beautiful brown eyes.  "I should get you home. It's getting late" I said. "Yeah we should. Geez it's 10:15" she said while looking down at her watch. "I guess time really does fly by when you're having fun" I said. "Heh, yeah I guess it does" she said. We get in the car and she turned on the radio. She starts to sing and dance as I laugh. "What" she asked. "Nothing. It's just that you look funny while you dance" I laughed. "Hey" she said. We both just laugh and have a good time the rest of the ride.

Once we get to her house, she stops the car. "I had fun tonight" she said smiling. "So did I. You have an amazing voice by the way" I said. She starts to blush. "I'm not really that good" she said. "Sure you are! You just can't see it" I said. "T-Thanks..." she said. I walk her up to her door. "Good night Laurance" she said hugging me. "Good night Aph" I said. "I'll see you tomorrow" she said then closing the door. I walk home. "Man what a day" I said to myself.

—Aphmau's P.O.V.————————
I close the door and go to my room. "So you and Laurance huh" someone said scaring me. I turn around and see Katelyn standing there. "Oh my Irene Katelyn! Don't scare me like that" I said. "Sorry. It's not my fault you're so jumpy" she said. "Well I'm gonna go to bed" I said. "Not so fast. You still haven't told me what's going on" she said. "Nothing is going on. We were just hanging out" I said. "Mmhmm. Sure you were" she said. "Well what about you and Jeffory? Or is it Travis" I asked. She starts to blush. "That doesn't concern you right now" she snapped. "Anyways where are you two going tomorrow" she asked. "I don't know. He didn't say. Maybe it's a surprise" I said. "Oooooooooo you guys are going on a daaaaaaaate" she said. "No we're not. Just hanging out" I said. "Ok you can call it whatever but, he's taking you on a date" she said. "No he isn't. Can we just drop it please" I asked. "Fine. You need some sleep before you go on date anyways" she laughed. "Stop calling it that" I said. I hear her laugh as she went to her room. "Finally I can get some sleep" I said to myself. I turn out the light and fall asleep.
