Chapter 18: Encounter

Should I shorten the chapters or, keep them the same?

~Aphmau's POV~
I woke up to the smell of pancakes. I get up and, go into the kitchen. I see Cadenza making breakfast. "Good morning~" she said. "Good morning. So what has you in such a good mood" I asked. "I don't know, I guess just being back home feels nice" she said. "I can understand that" I said. "So what are we going to do about Laurance? We need a plan" she said. "I don't know what to do about him...let's just talk about it during breakfast with the others" I said.

~Laurance's POV~
I decided to wake up early and, head out to town to get my mind of things. All I could think about was Aphmau. Anything I tried to think about all just ended up coming back to her. Maybe if I just walk around Meteli that will get my mind off her.

First, I went to a coffee shop nearby to get breakfast. Next, I decided to just walk around and, I ended up at a park. I sat on a bench and, just watched the people go by. Watching all the people talk to their friends really makes me miss mine. I still wonder if they would ever forgive me. If Aphmau would forgive me. Ugh, there I go again! Thinking about her. When will I just forget this and, start fresh! Is that what I want though? Why do I always have to question myself about everything I've done? Can't I just let it go? I sighed as I thought on about doubting myself when all of a sudden something or, more like someone pulled me out of my thoughts.

"LAURANCE"

~Aphmau's POV~
At breakfast no one really had a plan so we just decided to walk around until we find him. I hope this works...

First, we checked the mall but, we didn't find anything. We were on our way to a nearby coffee shop, but we had to pass through a park in order to get there. As we were walking, I noticed a certain brunette sitting on a bench looking down and, caught up in his thoughts. I wasn't really thinking and, then all of a sudden I yelled "LAURANCE!" As I yelled that everyone looks and stares at me including the man on the bench. Once he looked up and, I saw his big ocean blue eyes, I knew it was Laurance on the bench. I ran to him and, when I came into view, he looked scared and nervous. I ran up to him and hugged him. All I could do was hug and cry into his chest. I'm so happy that we found him.

~Laurance's POV~
I look up to see a woman with jet black hair racing towards me. At first I was confused but, when she came into view, I froze. It was her. The girl that I loved- Aphmau.
I was so nervous to face her. She did the one thing I least expected her to do. She hugged me. She started to cry into my chest and, I was at a loss of words. I decided to break the silence. "Why are you here" I asked still kind of shaky about seeing her. "To find you baka! To bring you back home! Why are you here anyways? Just come home! Please...We miss you...I miss you..." she cried. "I'm here for school. Meteli is my home. Besides, I can't leave my dad again. He has no one else. Cadenza, my mom, and I all moved out to Phoenix Drop after my parents split up. And I'm not leaving him again. That's final. Have a good day Aphmau" I said as I got out of her grip and, walked away. I honestly don't know what I'm doing. I want to run back and hug her and, tell her it'll be ok but, will it?

I feel someone pull my arm. I turn around and, something touches my lips. I realized that it was Aphmau. We pull away and, I said "So you did miss me hehe..." "Of course I did! (Even though I already said I did...) Can't you just turn down the offer and, bring your dad to Phoenix Drop" she cried. "I wish I could but, I don't have the money to move again and, this is a big opportunity for me. I can't just throw it away" I said. After an awkward silence she asked "W-Will we ever see you again?"  She clearly didn't want to make eye contact with me. "I hope" was all I could say. I want to go back and be with her but, I can't.

At this point all of our friends are watching with tears in their eyes. "Take care of her for me" I called out. "I'll see you soon..I promise" I whispered to Aphmau. "No! I don't want to loose you again" she shouted. I felt bad about leaving her. Is it the right thing to do? "You won't loose me. Just think of it as a 'see ya soon,' ok" I said walking away.

"But we already forgave you"

When I heard those words I stopped right where I was and, turned around. "You....do..?" I asked. I didn't wait for an answer because I already knew what she would say next. I ran back to Aphmau and everyone, and pulled them into a group hug. "I missed you guys" I said. "We missed you too" everyone said in unison. "Besides we can help you with your money problem" Garroth laughed. "What about my d-" "It's ok Laurance" a low voice interrupted. We release from the hug and look in the direction of where the voice came from.

"Dad?!?" I said. "Laurance I'll be fine. Don't let me hold you back. Live your life with your friends" he said with a smile. "A-Are you sure? What about Meteli Un-" "I already told them that you aren't going" he interrupted. My eyes grew wide at this. "Be with your friends. They clearly want you to go back" I said. "Thank you dad" I smiled as I ran up to him and gave him a hug.

"So how did you know I was here" I asked. "You forgot your phone and, it was ringing like there was no tomorrow. I decided to look for you to give it back" he explained while giving me my phone. "Again thanks dad, for everything" I said. I turned to face all my friends and said "Come on guys, let's go home."

That's it for chapter 18! I know it's been awhile since I updated. I might have been busy with a new book that might come out soon. I'll try to update more frequently. Hoped you guys liked it💜
